RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT/Gray News) - A woman in Indiana has come forward, saying she has DNA evidence proving she is Brittany Renee Williams, a 7-year-old child who went missing from Henrico, Virginia, in 2000.
For 21 years, there had been no trace of Brittany, a tiny girl with an angelic face, known for her magnetic smile. She was treated for AIDS and lived with Kim Parker, who ran an independent foster home out of her house in Henrico, WWBT reported.
Brittany vanished from the home in 2000. She hadn’t shown up to school, and Parker did not produce Brittany for court hearings.
A police search ensued, even involving local authorities digging up Parker’s backyard.
Detectives have long presumed Brittany Williams to be dead, especially without her AIDS medication. But that may not be true.
Twenty-one years later, Kaylynn Stevenson of Fort Wayne, Indiana, says she is Brittany Renee Williams. Stevenson also said she has a certified, in-lab DNA test to prove it, taken at Labcorp.

Looks pretty close. Check her earlobes they are as unique as fingerprints.
Was there a motive for her disappearance? (Being treated for AIDS as a 7 year old implies much that someone might have wanted to save her from).
For those who doubt the story, what possible motive would the adult have for falsely claiming to be the child? I doubt there’s a trust fund waiting in the wings.

If she is who she says she is I wonder if her adoptive parents are two women too
The upper gum outline appears to be the same between the new permanent teeth in the childhood pix and the final adult smile. The nose outline is the same and the amount of upper eyelid skin is the same. Think that an age progression between from the childhood to adult photo would be consistent.
A stolen childhood is the real tragedy here. :( Hope it all gets sorted out.

I gather from the article that she did not have AIDs. Her caregiver was a con artist.
It smells like kidnap, fake AIDS baby diagnosis, and what I’ll call an interesting adoption in the name of being charitable.
