Marine Lt. Col. Stuart Scheller pleaded to all six charges he faced in a court-martial over his criticism of military leaders and how the Biden administration handled the withdrawal in Afghanistan.
“A military judge accepted on Thursday Marine Lt. Col. Stuart Scheller’s plea and found Scheller guilty of all charges at his court-martial today at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune,” The Daily News reported. “Scheller’s lawyer earlier Thursday said he expects Scheller to receive a letter of reprimand. In court it was said Scheller could also forfeit two-thirds of his monthly pay, for up to 12 months. There are limitations on his potential punishment. Scheller may not be demoted, fined or punitively discharged.”
Scheller pleaded guilty to the following charges:
Article 88 (Contempt toward officials) Article 89 (Disrespect toward superior commissioned officers) Article 90 (Willfully disobeying a superior commissioned officer) Article 92 (Dereliction in the performance of duties) Article 92 (Failure to obey order or regulation) Article 133: (Conduct unbecoming an officer and a gentleman) Scheller was thrown in the brig back in late September after he violated a gag order and continued to talk about the matter.

Correction. Sorry, it’s the Daily Wire. Dog jumped in my lap.
I don’t know what this guy’s game is, but he’s anti-Trump as well.........................
Now
Let’s court martial whoever put him in the brig.
You can’t just throw people into jail because they make you mad.
Whoever did this knows that.
The article basically says his projected “punishment” is minimal. But I question a few things as well. What’s it all about, Alfie?
This guy hurt somebody’s feelings.
The generals LOST Afghanistan and got Americans KILLED.
Where are the court martials for them?
He’ll never make ‘Full Bird’..............................
But he escapes with a full skin...
Maybe he’s about to defend the oath he took. That’s the only thing I can think of.
Regardless of what his political affiliation is, He did take an oath as did everybody in federal or state or local service.
If he’s going to defend his honor by bringing the oath into question or use as a foundational tenet to serving the country... it’s going to be interesting.
I’m thinking he has an ulterior motive here for his actions, like politics. Retire from the service, and immediately run for something like Congressman or Senator, as a ‘maverick’ like somebody we all know and loathe....................
See post #10......................
Probably the same Generals that were critical of Trump and decided to by pass him and the civilian control of the armed forces.
No. Maybe he already knew that somehow. Maybe there is a whole lot more to the story than the headlines. With 3 years to go, he made a decision.
Quite possible. They let you know that you are either 'in' or 'out' of 'The Club' well beforehand...........................
Colonel is really tough to make as many have learned.
You’re either competitive or not….and your destiny is pretty much pre-determined. You know. It’s not a guessing game.
That said….just maybe there’s no motive but that which he lays out. Will make a good book.
They likely couldn’t impose sentence for more than 2 of the convictions because of the bar on multiplicity of sentencing (punished twice for the same conduct).
Wouldn’t have gotten one anyway - officers can only be dismissed, not receive bad conduct or dishonorable discharge.
A guy in my O-6 class was a three-time passover. Unicorns do exist.
The general in charge admits to treason yet still is not punished.
