Report: Supply Chain Crisis Impacting Grocers, ‘Shelves Were Bare and Nearly Empty’
Breitbart ^ | 14 Oct 2021 | WENDELL HUSEBØ

“In Target, fruit snacks were limited, protein bars were nearly gone too, and Lunchables were low in stock,” the outlet said. “We saw the least amount of available frozen foods at Publix and snack foods like beef jerky were running low.”

“Both stores had limits on pet foods,” WJXT added.

CEO of the Michigan Pork Producers Association Mary Kelpinski told the Detroit Free Press the supply chain crisis is hurting suppliers’ ability to keep food on the shelves. “Nationally, our numbers are down,” Kelpinski said. “Demand is very good. Everyone wants bacon, but we have fewer pigs.”

The challenge of keeping food on the shelves for consumers comes as the supply chain is suffering from a deficit of labor primarily due to the federal government and Democrat-controlled state governments’ dispensing large unemployment benefits that outweigh private sector wages.

I was just ordering toilet paper at walmart online.

I had 12 packs of 20 rolls of Scott1000 in my cart and
before I could check out.. the cart updated and said now only 10 packs were available... I immediately finished the order and submitted it.

Ordered several huge jugs of laundry detergent as well..

Talk about super-size.

I have ordered 36 cases of 12 large cans of chicken breast chunks in the last few days. I have the protein taken care of and am working on the canned fruit and veggies now.

I need to find some good prepper sites as I just feel like I
am leaving something out...

Those are real critical items for survival there.

It’s what my younger daughter refers to as first world problems.

That’s amazing. I’m in Idaho. The digging just stopped. They’re in the cellars. Getting trucks and diesel to get them to you, may be a problem. Remember what Hank Jr said, Country Boys Can Survive.

36 cases! You must have a lot of storage room.
But that does sound like a smart ‘time proof’ purchase.
Now you need to choose a carb for balance. There is a world of rices, pastas, dehydrated or mashed and flaked potatoes, oatmeal, grits, or the italian version called polenta, don’t be ashamed to buy cream of wheat. It’s boring but nutritious.

Then, you need things from the earth. Plant products.
Lentils, pintos, black beans, barely, white beans, cans of pork and beans. Saurkraut, pickles, relish, soups and stews.
The forgotten stepchild aka Spam awaits your attention.

This is strictly a welfare state problem. I live in Spain, which has very little in the way of safety nets, and all the stores are full. Stop giving people incentives to stay home and see how fast the crisis ends.

When did Wendell write this article? May?

The enhanced unemployment benefits are long gone.

I was going to buy a load of 1 month plastic containers of dry food at Sam’s but the place they get it from closed down..

So I am getting canned food and rice...

I have maybe 30 lb of frozen brussel sprouts in the freezer along with roasts and two turkeys. But then what to do if the power goes out. I have solar but not enough to run more than one small freezer, thus the canned food.

I am getting canned potatoes, never have tried any but they should be OK, also canned carrots and lots of beans of all sorts.

I have enough solar to run the microwave..so no matter what I shouldn’t have to haul out a camp stove...also have a two-burner hotplate I should be able to run one burner at a time.

Malt-o-Meal is my wheat cereal of choice :-)

Amazing how quickly the #ing Rats can destroy things...

I have noted the same thing. It took him months to completely destroy our military reputation, our supply chain, our economy as a whole. Egads!

There are a lot of good deals on bacon in my neck of the woods. Especially if you use digital coupons.

Hard to believe that I’m back to doing Doomsday Runs at Costco, but this time it seems to be real...

At my Costco, it seems there isn't a "slow" time anymore. I've gone first thing in the morning and later in the day just before they close. It's packed all the time now. No t.p. or paper towels.

My comment on that thread is that there will be a brisk business in smuggled in from Nevada generators.
