Gruden criticized the emergence of women in the NFL as officials and called for the dismissal of players protesting the playing of the national anthem. He also said in an email that the Rams shouldn’t have been been pressured into drafting “queers” when the team took Michael Sam, who was the first openly gay player drafted.
Gruden referred to Biden in 2012 when he was vice president as a “nervous clueless pu$$y” during an email exchange with former Washington executive Bruce Allen.
He also called Roger Goodell a “clueless anti football pu$$y.”

Hopefully he has a great lawyer who can say those emails were from 10 years ago and they were private...
What a shame. The majority of folks agree with him.
I wish he told his detractors to go to hell and not resigned.
Probably because of the way his contract was structured. He gets more by resigning than by being fired. Someone of his stature probably had a lot of protections built in to cover something like this. He is a bit screwed in that he can’t go back to the booth.
He’s not wrong
Ditto.
I don’t think they have to if he resigns, right? I’m sure they came up with a great severance - I hope so.
In other words, he got fired for expressing conservative opinions and being bluntly honest about incompetent people.
I honestly never realized Gruden was such a smart man.
This was a hit job on Gruden. He was a conservative so they had to destroy humanity!
Is Richard Simmons still available?
He resigned.
I agree with most of his allegedly offensive emails.
They were under pressure to take Michael Sam, a lot of pressure. Most of the teams refused to do it anyway.
Mike Sam was someone who wanted a lot of attention and special treatment. Just because.
good point on the contract issue, probably true
He called Biden - clueless.

He was right on all counts.
Did he say something that was not true?
They do. His lawyer would have never let him sign a contract that allowed the Raiders to back out of $1 of the entire contract for any reason.
