3,741 New Breakthrough Cases in Mass., 46 More Deaths in Vaccinated People

Massachusetts health officials on Tuesday reported nearly 4,000 new breakthrough cases over the past week, and 46 more deaths.

In the last week, 3,741 new breakthrough cases -- infections in people who have been vaccinated -- were reported, with 125 more vaccinated people hospitalized, Massachusetts Department of Public Health officials said Tuesday. Their report brings the total number of breakthrough cases to 40,464, and the death toll among people with breakthrough infections to 300.

According to this now up to 60% of deaths in most recent report in Massachusetts fully vaccinated. With 68% fully vaccinated out of 6.9 million, here are your current odds of dying with Covid in that state:

For me, evaluating risk versus benefits, it’s more useful to look at the likelihood of *not* dying of Covid during that time period:

vaxxed: 99.9993%
unvaxxed: 99.9990%

Our local hospital is popping up, after record attendance at the Big fair that just finished its two week run. They were way, way down.

Meanwhile, the federal government, their contractors, and other companies, are mandating the vaccine for workers in Nov or Dec.

And, healthcare is huge in MA, with many fine hospitals. Lots of nurses and other skilled professionals being fired for not being vaccinated.

Damn… 300 deaths to date among the vaccinated. This linked article is dated October 5th so I went to see what Massachusetts has reported to the CDC as of October 5th.

As of 10/5/2021, Massachusetts has reported 18,680 COVID-19 deaths. So that must mean that there were 18,380 COVID-19 deaths in Massachusetts AMONG THOSE NOT FULLY VACCINATED. Maybe it’s just me but some analytical people might just conclude that it’s far better to be fully vaccinated.

Or, one might consider that Massachusetts has a population of 7,000,000 people and just 18,680 died from covid (roughly .003% of the population), so why bother with the very risky shots?
