Trump slams Biden's 'socialist' spending package, airs grievances at Iowa rally
Washington Examiner via Yahoo ^ | 10/09/21 | Virginia Aabram

Former President Donald Trump attacked President Joe Biden's $3.5 trillion "socialist" spending "monstrosity" on all fronts, from economy to immigration to energy, while continuing his long-standing criticism of the 2020 election and attacks on political foes.

Trump, widely viewed as a likely 2024 presidential contender, slammed his successor's efforts to cobble together a coalition for the massive spending haul, saying the bill was "so bad."

"It's a socialist transformation bill, it's an open borders bill, [and] it's an American energy destruction bill," Trump said at a "Save America" rally in Des Moines, Iowa, Saturday night.

"Joe Biden and the radical Left Democrats in Congress are trying to ram through a $3.5 trillion, wild, spending binge that costs more than the entire sum the United States has spent on any war in the history of our country," Trump said.

"Not only is this the largest spending bill of all time, it's the largest tax hike of all time. This monstrosity is so dangerous for our country and so bad for children and grandchildren to come. This monstrosity is a bill to end America as we know it. It's so bad," he said.

Democrats in both chambers are currently struggling to reach an agreement on the fiscal bill, with the roughly $2 trillion gap separating centrists such as Sen. Joe Manchin and progressives such as Sen. Bernie Sanders growing so contentious that Biden joked locking the two in a room would lead to "homicide."

Trump's criticism wasn't limited to Democrats, reprising attacks on Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell for supporting a short-term extension of the nation's debt, "warmongerer" GOP Rep. Liz Cheney, and Georgia's Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger and Gov. Brian Kemp for...

**SNIP**

"They rigged the election, and now, based on the rigged election, they're destroying our country," he said.

It would be dead already but for these progressives wearing R jerseys.

Dan Sullivan (R-AK) Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) Mike Crapo (R-ID) Roy Blunt (R-MO) Richard Burr (R-NC) Deb Fischer (R-NE) Lindsey Graham (R-SC) Rob Portman (R-OH) Thom Tillis (R-NC) Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) Jim Risch (R-ID) Chuck Grassley (R-IA) Bill Cassidy (R-LA) Kevin Cramer (R-ND) Roger Wicker (R-MS) Mitch McConnell (R-KY) John Hoeven (R-ND) Susan Collins (R-ME) Mitt Romney (R-UT)

They knew when they voted for the Trojan horse they were enabling the bigger worse one.

Grassley was there. He stood ground for Clarence Thomas back in the day, and demonstrates savvy in the ways of Senate machinations. Nevertheless, IA needs a more-articulate, stronger-spined Senator who will not concede to globalist demands. Oh, and did I say younger?

... and pence. Pence could have saved our country but instead saved his own 5 dollar hide.

And Trump made up with him on that?

He’s still meeting with Flimesy Grahamnesty who did more to hobble his term than most of the others.
Makes no sense to me.

THE MOST devastating instrument being used to ruin this country right now is the vaccine. Directly through death and life destroying reactions and indirectly by how they are being used to ruin lives and take our liberty.

Did Trump mention any of this?

This is what he said at the Alabama rally:

“I did it. It’s good. Take the vaccines.”

I don’t know of an instance where Trump said we shouldn’t get the vaccine.

Trump created quite a list of things that make no sense that he’s done. It has to be said.

Thank you. For him to say that (and nothing else) at a time when the vaccines are being used to literally ruin this country horrifies me.

I no longer think that Trump is the leader that this country needs. He cares more about the man in the mirror than the United States of America.

In Trump's defense, he is working with what is available, and I am sure he knows how untrustworthy the vast majority of those in D.C. are.

Post #2 has the list of those voting for the $1.2 trillion “bipartisan infrastructure” bill that is being used by the Democrats as a Trojan horse for their country killing reconciliation bill.

Grassley voted for it with his fellow Bush League Republicans, the usual suspects.
Many of the same people who voted for the debt limit more recently.

Are you sure? can you provide a source? I noticed that when Trump endorsed him, his response was some like "I can't turn down Trump's endorsement because Trump has a 91% favor ability with Iowa republicans". He did not say thanks or that Trump was a good president or anything, absolutely nothing else. If grassly voted for the infrastructure bill, and now Trump endorses him, something is very wrong. Trump needs to explain that.

You are full of crap. Trump has said many time there should be no mandates and everyone should make their own decision. He said last night that people have the right to make their own choices. The vax is his baby and he trust it enough to get it himself without forcing anyone to take it, that’s leadership. Now, I myself will never take it, but that’s just me.
