Never hire a Harvard MBA!
YouTube ^ | Oct 10 | RandFan

Posted on 10/10/2021 1:41:27 PM PDT by RandFan

A friend sent me this video. He also happens to be a medium sized employer and after watching this he said he would NEVER hire a Harvard MBA.

I was wondering if any Freepers would have the same attitude?

My experience watching Haaaavahd MBAs run companies into the ground says this is good advice.

Without actually watching the video, what was your friend’s problem with it?

He thought they were pretentious (he used more colorful language than that).

Bush, Romney. Not a very good record.

Probably still preferable to Harvard MPAs or MPPs: Masters in Public Administration and Masters in Public Policy from the Kennedy School.

I have an old friend whose husband was Harvard MBA.
He started 5 companies that all failed. Ended up just moping around living off her. She finally dumped him

I wonder how many business failures and business successes the instructor has had? She looks like she’s worked in a coffee shop?

Someone in the comment section said it’s the same standard as community college but much more expensive.

I have no idea if this is typical or not...

You’ve gotten it right previously.

The black, female professor was concerned there had been a mine accident and someone died. Someone had died in the past. She thought the company should shut the mine down (It was a large part of the company). It was basically someone died. My feelings were hurt.

Someone should have asked the professor if the same result occurred in a state program ran by a Democrat Governor, should they shut it down?

It’s not just Harvard MBAs, it’s MBAs from a bunch of schools, basically when you see a company that grows very rapidly with the founders of the company running things and at some point, they step back and hire Bean Counters to run the company that company more times than not will begin to fail.....

You see it all the time in Technology Companies, look at what happened at Apple when Steve Jobs got replaced by a guy who sold soft drinks and didn’t know anything about technology....

Look at Boeing, they were run by Engineers and built a great plane, replace them with Bean Counters and you get the disastrous 737max...

Countless examples exist...

Yes humble. I wrote this post and it’s not an article.

If it bothers you so much I will remember in future to change it to the source.

You can’t possibly imagine how much this disgusts me I would not count for anything anything this woman ever taught anyone she teaches because she can’t do

This is her bully pulpit to impose her ideals upon young skulls mostly full of mush who are paying a lot of money or someone is for them to have a sheep skin from this place which based on my experience means little or nothing in the real world. These kids are being trained with Harvard would have them to do and it has little or nothing to do with real business.

The answer being sought and taught and that is to shut down the mine is only correct if you intend to go out of business and not supply the opportunity for gainful employment and product 165000 people and your customers. Product that is likely necessary for a thriving healthy society

The responsible thing it’s not to shut down the lmine the other responsible thing is to continue to teach employees to duck when somethings about to hit them. And to investigate to learn if the cause of death is chronic or endemic and can be prevented by change in either equipment environment or operating practices

No I do not want any Harvard MBA in my organization I have never operated the business who’s intention is to go out of business
