His speech had no basis in reality. When CNN and CNBC are in shock at how bad the numbers are, he shuffles out and reads a prepared speech about how the numbers are great, how good the progress is, etc. and repeats the last few lies two or three times and shuffles off.
IMHO, the WH rehearsed with him a speech about how we beat expectations, and didn’t want to confuse him anymore so they let him run with it. hoping people wouldn’t notice.
Why does he carry that binder with him all the time? He never looks at it, just opens it, read from the giant TV in back, closes it and walks away.
Hard to say, but I'll bet he doesn't even know.
Why does he check his watch all the time? Symptoms of progressing Alzheimer's include OCD-type need to grasp objects and remind yourself through repetitive actions. Plus it makes it look like he is informed. "He has a book! He must know what he's talking about".
