Hi.

I’ve posted “Mike’s Chilli” before.

So, for posterity...

One lb ground sirloin
One lb ground hot sausage
Half lb of ground venison

Four cans of kidney beans drained.
One very large onion (yellow)
One large red bell pepper
Five large jalapeno peppers
Five habenero peppers

Forty eight oz of tomato sauce
One 6 oz tomato paste
Large can of diced tomatoes

One very large clove of garlic
Plenty of salt and black pepper
Two table spoons of chilli powder
Table spoon of Cummin
Three table spoons of cinnamon

Put the meat into the crockpot on high
Chop up everything else (be very careful with the habeneros)
Season as you put ingredients in

Cook for four hours

Get shredded cheddar cheese, spring onions, a cinnamon stick and corn chips to add to your bowl

Enjoy

Well I do shortcut soups to make them taste like homemade.

For instance......in store-bought can of Chili with beans add some stewed cubed tomatoes, bit of onions and top off with cheese topping when served.

....Also works well for canned veg. soup.

And for Creamy Tomato soup... I use milk instead of water......I add salt pepper, butter garlic powder and a couple tablespoons of Coffee-mate which smooths it wonderfully.

Lamb stew

One pound of ground lamb

Chopped carrot, onion and celery

A whole bunch of Greek seasoning. Brown in pot.

When browned add in a crushed garlic clove and half can tomato paste.

Stir constantly about 30 seconds to a minute, do not leave or it will burn.

Add in a can of chicken broth, a couple of cups of cubed butternut squash, a couple cups of cubed zucchini.

Let simmer for about 10 minutes.

Top with feta cheese and eat.

Try the recipe and tell me what you think.

Spices to taste. I forget to say drain the diced tomatoes.

It will “light up” your morning constitution.

Cabbage and Italian Sausage Soup
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 1/2 pounds bulk Italian sausage (I use 2 pounds)
2 white onions, sliced
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/2 cup oil-packed sun-dried tomatoes, chopped (I skip)
1/2 cup white wine
Whole head green cabbage, thinly sliced ¾”
6 cups chicken stock

Cooking Ground Beef and Bulk Italian Sausage for soup, spaghetti, loose meat, etc.
I like a fine crumble when cooked so the meats is evenly spread on every bite.
I always cook the meat first and then set aside till needed later in the recipe.
-Use a pan large enough for the final product.

I love soup. My favorites are: lentil, chicken, cream of potato with cheese, zucchini potato and minestrone. I like serving them with homemade potato bread.
