Moderate Sen. Joe Manchin’s (D-WV) political future may hinge on his “continued defense of the filibuster,” according to a poll released by Honest Election Project on Tuesday.
A majority of Manchin’s supporters are against ending the filibuster, something far-left Democrats are keen on and have been pressuring both Manchin and fellow moderate Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) to support. According to the poll, 56 percent of West Virginians (including 59 percent of Manchin supporters) would be less likely to support him for reelection if he votes to eliminate or weaken the filibuster.

I can’t see West Virginians electing any other Democrat to the senate. If Manchin goes, I’m confident they’ll send a republican to replace him.
I don’t think it withdrawal be ideal, but I’d just love to see the heads explode across the country if he announced he was changing parties, or going independent and caucus with Republicans making Schumer nobody again.

Here’s the problem, BOTH Sinema and Manchin are going to cave. We WILL have a socialist Green new deal. Just because it won’t be 3.5 TRILLION should not make anyone happy. Whether it’s 1.5 or most likely 2.5 trillion, it is an attack on our country. Just because it is delayed, doesn’t mean we are not going to get screwed big time. The Dems and the media will crow and pat themselves on the back how they “saved” us a trillion dollars.
And the Dem party says....Joe...do as we say or you aren’t getting one dime for re-election.

The Dems have their work around. They’ll implement programs with 5 year funding instead of 10 year funding. That will bring down the score. Everyone knows once an entitlement is started, there is no stopping it. The true cost will remain the same.
The GOP really doesn’t mind, an expansion of government is good for them too.

You can already here Manchin positioning his “cave” as a negotiation. It’s all so predictable.

Well, if Soros gives him a big enough paycheck to set him up for life, the filibuster is dead!
Manchin is no longer beholden to the voters of West Virginia. He is 74 now, and not up for re-election for 4 years. If he lives that long, he can retire with the big payoff he is going to get for caving on this after the Kabuki theater is over.
The two of them should just change parties and save America.
Schumer will just lower the price of admission and they will cave. They will add the Money back in incrementally to fund all the new Bureaucracies that are part of the original Bill. It's all just Kabuki Theater.
Doesn’t matter. They are the only 2 that realize their party is phucked! If they were smart, they would defect to save their jobs.
