LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. — The lawyer for Brian Laundrie’s family told The Post on Tuesday that the fugitive flew home to Florida on Aug. 17 — a bombshell claim that throws a wrench in the timeline of the Gabby Petito case.
Laundrie family lawyer Steven Bertolino said Brian returned home for supplies and then flew back to Salt Lake City, Utah, on Aug. 23 to rejoin Petito.
Brian’s brief sojourn home would have come after the couple’s now-infamous fight in Utah that involved cops and before her body was found in a national forest last month.
“Brian flew home to obtain some items and empty and close the storage unit to save money as [he and Petito] contemplated extending the road trip,” Bertolino wrote in a text to The Post.

Hey its as good as any other theory on this subject..
Just sayin‘
Actually they all may have crossed paths and the Lesbians may have spotted Landries tendency to beat up girls and gone all activist and militant and things degraded from there.
Do we know the manner of death of the other two women? Because I would think it would be out of character for him to attack and kill two people. Shooting two people - yes, but killing by knife or bludgeoning takes a lot of effort and anger. Not something I would think fits his behavior. And then to kill her? I just don’t see this guy becoming a stone cold killer. (AFAIK, he has no violent criminal acts in his past).
My theory - they fight and split up, he’s steamed and takes the van leaving her behind. Later returns, either can’t find her or finds her dead, and takes off for home.
Not defending the guy, but his actions don’t seem to be deceptive. If he killed her and left, there was a sizable risk her body would be found before he even got to Florida, and he would have been arrested. The few days spent at home could have been ended at any moment by her discovery, and yet he didn’t.
I wonder where all Gabby’s items are now.
She was in a SLC hotel near the airport.
Its no mystery he killed her end of story
A fugitive hiding from the law. Deceptive.
There is the possibility BL took Gabby's wallet with both the debit cards he used, and her drivers license. This would delay identification of her body, without the massive search efforts thanks to social media. Perhaps BL tossed Gabby's wallet, along with other personal items belonging to Gabby into the swamp near the Laundrie home. That would support the ongiong search efforts occurring in the swamp.
There are lots of little mysteries, even if you’re convinced that he killed her.
And the whole circus around it all is a bemusing study in human nature.
I believe the correct legal term is, 'accessories after the fact.'
Wait! I know who did it!
It was the professor in the hallway with a candlestick.
What do I win🤗
I worked with a girl that was in a same sex relationship...she consistently came in bruised up...said dog pulled her over, fell down stairs, etc. Seems lesbians tend to be a more physical punishing than their homosexual counter parts.
Colonel Mustard, in the library, with the lesbians!
I don’t care about his guilt, innocence or life. I care much more about due process, equal treatment under the law and a press that is even handed.
This kind of story is meant to take our focus on the coming dictatorship that is just a smidgen away from reality.
You win a vintage Nancy Drew mystery book (I suggest ‘The Mystery of the Wooden Lady’); and you get to throw first on the next game.
Mr Mustard in the Library with the Wrench.
Showing f my senility, you win.
Where does this Mr. Mustard reference come from?
The only one I know of is Mean Mr. Mustard on the Abby Rd. Album.
Mustard was a Colonel, not a Mr.
No. I guess I didn’t have a Clue!
And you’re kidding me :-)
