LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. — The lawyer for Brian Laundrie’s family told The Post on Tuesday that the fugitive flew home to Florida on Aug. 17 — a bombshell claim that throws a wrench in the timeline of the Gabby Petito case.
Laundrie family lawyer Steven Bertolino said Brian returned home for supplies and then flew back to Salt Lake City, Utah, on Aug. 23 to rejoin Petito.
Brian’s brief sojourn home would have come after the couple’s now-infamous fight in Utah that involved cops and before her body was found in a national forest last month.
“Brian flew home to obtain some items and empty and close the storage unit to save money as [he and Petito] contemplated extending the road trip,” Bertolino wrote in a text to The Post.

The parents and fat sister aided the murderer.
Everyone knows you can’t get supplies in Salt Lake City.
He’s only wanted for the unauthorized use of a credit card.
Disclaimer — I believe fully in the principles of innocence until proven guilty, and the right to a fair trial.
But just looking at this from a law enforcement perspective, there can be almost no credible scenario in which this suspect left Wyoming with his girlfriend’s van and credit card, not knowing she had been murdered. So if he were to claim that he just came back to their campsite and found her dead, then law enforcement would be asking, then why did you not come into the town nearby and report this to police?
Then going back to Moab, there has to be at least some suspicion that he could be involved in the unsolved murders there. The timeline is a bit confusing, but it seems to be something like this —
Thursday Aug 12, they have an argument outside the workplace of one of the later killed lesbian campers; Moab police track them down outside town and separate them, he goes to a hotel for the night.
Friday Aug 13, the two lesbians last seen alive leaving a pub in Moab, later they text a friend to say creepy dude bothering them at a remote campsite.
Monday or Tuesday after this, the same friend having not heard from them goes looking in the remote areas she knows they like to camp in, eventually after quite a long search finds their car and shortly afterwards their dead bodies in a creek. Time of these murders unknown (at least by the general public).
So we have no idea where the video-blog couple stayed on any night except Thursday-Friday, did they reunite on the Friday and go camping in the same remote spot they had been in before, and was that near this murder scene? Nobody knows. They could have been back to there by Friday night in that time line or even Saturday night, the time of these murders is unknown.
Let’s say that this was the case, then they drive to SLC, she takes a hotel room for a week, he goes back to Florida. Why? Does it have something to do with the Moab situation?
Then he’s back in SLC, they drive to Grand Teton (about a day’s drive as I recall) and find yet another remote national forest campsite, where she gets killed.
Possibly unrelated fact, another young woman has gone missing in Utah, a teenage high school student, as of Sept 20th (read this while trying to figure out the Moab timeline). Law enforcement would probably be thinking this could be the same person who killed the lesbian couple, if she was abducted as her parents suspect. Not saying that is Florida boy either, could be just a coincidence and some other killer on the loose, but until proven otherwise, there’s nothing to say Florida boy isn’t back in Utah for whatever reason.
The spooky thing for me is that I drove that loop road around the La Sal Mountains when I visited Moab two years ago, looking for campsites because the lowland campgrounds were all full up (it was some busy weekend with a vintage car rally). Never found any, it was in April and the national forest spur roads weren’t open to traffic, just the loop road was open. My thoughts about danger were more along the lines of bears or other large animals, as it was quite warm and the high elevation snow was melting off.
Even if this information is true it still does not change the timeline of the young lady’s death so that this information is useless and is a complete wash.
I would’ve guessed that this was a case of Brian having a brief loss of control and unwittingly killing her but with the weird explanation of this sojourn, some of Brian’s earlier comments and the coroner citing “unusual” findings, it’s possible some premeditation may have involved.
What did she know on the Clintons?
OK how about this.....They and a 4some with the lesbos, he thinks Gabby enjoyed it a bit too much, he fly’s back to Fla retrieves a handgun from the said locker, fly’s back and offs the “wifes” and then offs Gabby...
Hey its as good as any other theory on this subject..
Just sayin
Yeah, I heard they don’t have grocery or backpacking stores on that remote planet of Utah…
While it doesn’t ‘throw a wrench’ in the timeline of her actual death, it does seem odd and beg the question of the true purpose/need of the trip.
How much did a storage unit and supplies cost? Bet it wasn’t more than a round trip flight from Salt Lake City.
Naw, wouldn’t fly - the lesbians were found dead before he flew off to Florida.
Her dumping him is not a “no win” situation. 🙄 If, big if, he was involved in the lesbian murders and Gabby was going to talk, he might’ve wanted to silence her. I thought she talked to her mom on Aug 25 (working from memory) and she didn’t seem to tell her mom there were problems. Something happen between then and the 27th?
Where was Gabby went Brian flew to Florida? Camping alone? Did she drive Brian to the airport and pick him up?
>> I wish they spent more time on the election fraud claims by individual witnesses.
Agreed.
Which is why he may have left the area. The question then becomes why did he go back out west to Gabby? Maybe to silence her? Whatever, some big piece of the puzzle is missing.
Lesbian couple were found on the 18th. He flew home on the 17th. My gut tells me he is guilty of their murders. The original daily mail article stated he put Gabby in a hotel before flying home.
My theory is he snapped and killed the lesbians...for whatever reason. In a panic, he flew home to mommy and daddy who always fixed his problems. They told him to fly back like nothing happened. Maybe Gabby confronted him and he “snapped” again. Or maybe he enjoyed the kill. Serial killer? It’s not as far fetched as it sounds.
He killed lesbians, too? Wow, first I heard of that in the mix. But I’m not paying all that much attention to this tragedy’s details.

This has become an elaborate Parlor Game for bored adults tired of being jerked around by COVID crazies.
It has sex, violence, mystery and several subplots.
I don’t personally find the principals in the story very interesting. But it’s a mystery!
