Alleged comedian and actress Sarah Silverman has a complaint to make: what’s with all of the actors doing acting? Don’t they know that the only part you’re allowed to play is yourself?
On her podcast, Silverman complained, “There’s this long tradition of non-Jews playing Jews, and not just playing people who happen to be Jewish but people whose Jewishness is their whole being. . . . One could argue, for instance, that a Gentile playing Joan Rivers correctly would be doing what is actually called ‘Jewface.’ ”
One could argue that, but only if one had the I.Q. of the stuff that grows on your kitchen sponge.
Silverman is the kind of person who argues for inclusiveness by telling us all about who should be excluded from what. She’s the Clancy Wiggum of the cultural-appropriation police. In 2007, on her Comedy Central show, she actually wore blackface, proving that she was guilty of culturally appropriating the humor of 1936. In 2016 she appeared as Adolf Hitler on an episode of “Conan.” Only Aryans get to do that, dummkopf!
Silverman says “Jewface” is “defined as when a non-Jew portrays a Jew with the Jewishness front and center, often with makeup or changing of features, big fake nose, all the New York-y or Yiddish-y inflection.” She added, “When the importance of representation is seen as so essential and so front and center, why does ours constantly get breached even today in the thick of it?”
“Ours”? As is, Jewish roles belong exclusively to Jews? Are Jews supposed to turn down roles as non-Jews? Jews are a small minority. They’d have to turn down the vast majority of parts if they only did roles that are “ours.” Or does this rule somehow work only one way?

If it makes you feel better, she also hates observant Jews.
She openly mocks us orthodox.
She’s a no/talent hack. Ignore her.
But who’s going to play aliens?
Berkeley and UTexas grads.
Don’t forget Norm Greenberg’s “spirit in the sky” rock ballad.
Most cynical Hasid I’ve ever read about
She mocks. That’s her one claim to fame.
She did indeed. Did anyone notice that DNA stain on the side of her face? 😀😂😃 If you’ve only got a mustache. 👍
Cool. Now that you mention it Sarah, I am sick and tired of Non Southerners portraying Southerners in films and on TV. Yankees NEVER get the various Southern accents right. In fact, they’re so bad at it, it’s been a running joke for generations. It goes all the way back to Gone WithThe Wind. It goes without saying that the portrayals are often either caricatures of what real Southerners are like or are outright slanders.
Since this is the new standard, we’ll gladly adopt it too.
Well, if I saw it in a pawn shop, I’d probably buy it.
What are her thoughts on “Hamilton” actors?
“Christians only turn the other cheek.”
What happens when they run out of cheeks?
“or eating Christmas Snow.”
Was it yellow?
Is she sure she want to go this route?
Sarah Silverman is a tramp. She’s a vile, nasty, obscene, obnoxious, rude, loud mouth, perverted not very funny tramp.
Well, it’s all really just about trying to screw non-Jewish white people. (And Jews, too, but Sarah is too stupid to understand this).
So the Hamilton cast is just fine.
“Shes hideous”
Her old old acts late 1990’s, pre wokism and anti pc were belly hurting hilarious. She offended everyone. Most have been scrubbed from the ‘net.
I never liked her
Her brazen anti Christian bs is ridiculous
Try talking that way about Jews in Hollywood
Sad fact a lot there think much like she does
You can tell it by content
Louie Mayer and Jack Warner may have too....though I doubt it
But they didn’t rub our faces in it...
British, Australian, and Irish actors do a better job at Southern accents than do Northerners, Westerners, or Canadians. The movie, Cold Mountain, had mostly British, Irish, and Australian performers. Their imitations were good. The most prominent American actor in that movie was Renee Zellweger, from Katy, Texas. She may have sounded a little more Texan than western NC, however. Philip Seymour Hoffman, a native of upstate New York, however, dredged up every bad movie cliche about Southern preachers.
