Both were unvaccinated. COVID-19 causes myocarditis, and it does so at a higher rate than the vaccines. Regardless of vaccination status, people involved in high endurance/intensity sports should probably get screened. Teams should be offering/requiring it to protect their athletes.
I've also read several doctors warning against high intensity activities for several weeks after COVID or vaccination, as it can exacerbate the inflammation.

There is evidence that myocarditis grading certain COVID-19 vaccines. I’ve never disputed that.
But for the thread regarding Gov DeSantis’ wife having breast cancer and a link to a COVID-19 vaccination, my comments stand:
“Need something more than a post on a web-site or some video on Rumble.”
“Right? Right?”
THAT was what the above two sentences refer to.
"The first being the unfortunate Alex Stalock, who was a member of the Minnesota Wild when he contracted COVID in late 2020, then developed myocarditis weeks later when he ramped up his training".
This brings up another issue with young people and the vaccines. For someone who has had COVID-19, and had undiagnosed myocarditis, getting vaccinated could be a significant risk.
They should test every player in all of these sports leagues. But they won’t.
