Oaktree Capital Group was owned in a joint venture with China since 2013. Oaktree Capital Group, LLC (NYSE: OAK) (“Oaktree”) and China Cinda Asset Management Co., Ltd. (“Cinda”) announced that they entered into a memorandum of understanding (“MOU”) memorializing their intent to jointly invest in distressed assets in China and to cooperate with respect to distressed assets investments in markets outside China. I am willing to bet China didn’t give up their cash cow that Oaktree Capital does not own thus couldn’t sell.
