After watching a video of that climate-change girl, I felt moved to post an informal survey about the liberal mindset. I'd love to know Freepers' thoughts on the following questions: 1. Does a bitter mindset lead a person to become a leftist? OR 2. Does leftist ideology lead a person to become bitter? OR 3. Neither?
The desire to live sinful lives and follow sinful liberal ideology because they mistakenly think it ‘makes them free’ comes first- it doesn’t make them free- it makes them ugly- (We are talking the hardcore nasty vile angry liberals here) they know they are ugly inside spiritually because they chose darkness over the light, and are jealous of those who choose not to remain in darkness-
Christians and conservatives are the mirror that reflects the left’s ugly inner minds, and they can’t stand it- so they try to destroy the mirror so that they odn’t have to see how ugly they are anymore- Deep Down They know abortion is wrong and ugly, they know homosexuality is wrong and an abomination, they know being greedy and seeking to walk all over others is wrong, etc etc etc- and they can’t stand that there are folks who remind them that it is wrong just by the other folks refusing to engage in such ugliness-

that ‘moral gene’ is not a gene- it is the Holy Spirit who prompts everyone to turn to Christ, and who convicts everyone when they do wrong- it is a ‘universal moral code’ given by God-
My feeling is that liberals are people who have learned to stifle the ‘inner moral code’ ie Holy Spirit’s promptings- much more thoroughly than others- they block it out- put their hands over their ears to block it out figuratively- They drown it out with all manner of distractions and giving in to their base desires- without much restraint- problem is, the voice is always there- till the end- -
there are degrees of being a democrat- fortunately you weren’t hard core like some of my relatives- they are lost causes- they are angry bitter people-

Stop using the term liberal when talking about leftists. There are no more liberals.
So those who move from leftist to conservative are geneticly modified?
I used to be a leftist.
Mainstream schools (including higher ed) teach leftist ideology. Young people are naturally idealistic, and many, if not most, buy into leftist ideals. They associate with like-minded people, read leftist news, and continue on with leftism because it’s what they know, especially now with the left being so predominant in the news and the culture.
Oopen-minded people may change over the years if something really gets to them. In my case, I was shaken when same-sex marriage became legal in Massachusetts in 2004. I was stunned that anybody would legitimate taking mothers or fathers from babies. I began reading Concerned Women for America and Free Republic and branched out from there.
There are always exceptions to every rule you can choose.
However people under 18 or a couple of years older for those who are slow learners, are naturally going through a growing process....mentally as well as physically.
So it is perfectly natural for some, but not all of them, to go through stages.
As the study demonstrated, there are also people who make the correct decision immediately and some who find it difficult. Those are probably the ones who waver back and forth before finally deciding whether they are conservative or not.
