BRIAN Laundrie shared a series of dark and disturbing posts about ghosts and witchcraft to Pinterest shortly before his fiancee Gabby Petito was found dead at a campsite in Wyoming.
Laundrie, 23, is not currently considered a suspect in the death of Gabby, 22, but has been identified as a person of interest.
Brian Laundrie's digital footprint has been raising questions in recent weeks
Prior to his vanishing, Laundrie failed to report Gabby missing and refused to cooperate with a police investigation into her disappearance.
In a statement issued by his attorney, Steve Bertolino, at the time, it was claimed that Laundrie chose not to speak to investigators because police often focus on "intimate partners" in situations such as this.
"The warning that 'any statement made will be used against you' is true, regardless of whether my client had anything to do with Ms. Petito’s disappearance," he wrote. "As such, on the advice of counsel, Mr. Laundrie is not speaking on the matter."
Days later, Laundrie was reported missing by his parents. They claimed he told them on September 14 that he was going hiking in Florida's Carlton Reserve but never returned.
A week-long search of the 24,000-acre reserve has so far yielded no trace of Laundrie.
LAUNDRIE'S BIZARRE POSTS
As the hunt continues, the mysterious circumstances surrounding Petito's murder continue to set news networks and social media platforms aflame.
Armchair detectives and internet sleuths have been re-tracing Laundrie's digital footsteps in search of clues that may help to shed light on what went wrong during the couple's so-called dream cross-country road trip.
On a Pinterest profile that appears to belong to Laundrie, the 23-year-old pinned several images depicting darkness, ghosts, crime, and witchcraft.
Read our Gabby Petito live blog for the very latest news and updates...
In one post - or "pin" - Laundrie saved an image of the definition of nyctophilia, a "love of darkness or night, finding relaxation or comfort in the darkness."
In a second post, in an album titled "bleak", Laundrie saved an image of a "Witchcraft moon phase magic pocket guide" listed for sale on Etsy.
"Are you a Witch? A fan of Magick? Interested in the unexplainable, the occult? If the answer is yes, then these 'Pocket Guides for Witches' are for you!" the book's description reads.
Another image, saved to a folder called "my Heart", shows a skeleton holding a needle in one hand and a balloon in the other.
"You do it to yourself, and that's what really hurts," the text next to the figure says.
A second post in the same folder is a meme showing two people talking.
The first panel reads: "I just want someone to take me out."
When asked "like on a date or with a sniper gun", the same person responds: "Surprise me."
Other images saved by Laundrie include pictures of masked people posing with guns and an image of a tattoo on a woman's back, which reads: "I'm the hero of this story. I don't need to be saved."
The Sun previously reported on a number of other troubling posts saved on Laundrie's interest account.
'DON'T TRY TO FIND ME' Amid his own disappearance, one of the posts now causing a stir online is a pin he saved a number of weeks ago titled "The Opposite Of Lost."
The image, saved to a folder titled "my Heart", features pale purple and pink clouds. Also written beneath are the words: "Don't try to find me. I have finally escaped my 'master's' wicked clutches.
"To the others I say: JOIN ME. Bite the hand that feeds you. Vive La Beberte - Pierre."
The bizarre image appears to originate from a missing dog flier that was spotted in Portland, Oregon, in 2006. Oregon, incidentally, was the final planned destination of Petito and Laundrie's trip.
Also featured in the same folder is a series of quotes, including one from the movie Fight Club which reads, "It's only after we've lost everything that we're free to do anything."
Another post, saved to the account's "things to burn off" album, contains a digital sketch of ghosts, clowns, and skeletons which is drawing alarm elsewhere on social media.
In the center of the artwork, designed by Sacha Strange, is a cartoon gravestone with the words "My Baby" written across it.
The words "She'll never find a sweet man like me", and "Let her go, let her go, GOD BLESS HER, wherever she may be" also appear around the headstone.
Much like his Instagram page, Laundrie has shared a number of his own sketches to Pinterest, including watercolor paintings of Hell Boy, other superheroes, and scenes from movies.
Images created by others feature heavily in the folder "watercolor" including several depictions of Joaquin Phoenix as The Joker and cover art for H. G. Well's Sci-Fi novel, The Invisible Man.
The book was loosely adapted into a feature film last year, which told the story of a crazed scientist who fakes his own suicide and makes himself invisible to stalk and terrorize his ex-girlfriend.
While Brian is not yet considered a suspect in Petito's murder, a warrant has been issued for his arrest in relation to allegations of unauthorized use of a debit card, which is believed to belong to Gabby.
He and Petito had been traveling across the country in a white, repurposed van when Gabby was killed.
Laundrie quietly returned home alone to Florida on September 1. He reportedly refused to tell Gabby's family where she was and immediately retained an attorney.
Gabby's mother eventually reported her missing to police in New York on September 11, more than two weeks after she last spoke to her daughter by phone.
PROBE NARROWS
Laundrie is now wanted by the FBI on an active arrest warrant issued late Thursday on allegations of unauthorized use of a debit card.
He has also been the subject of a massive, more than weeklong manhunt across a Florida reserve.
The scale of the search is expected to be scaled back in the coming days.
Josh Taylor, of North Port Police Department, told Fox: “The FBI is now leading the search. I’m told, it will be scaled back and targeted based on intelligence.
“Hopefully water will lower in areas hard to currently access.”
Officers from NPPD will still be involved in the investigation.
Anyone with information about the case is urged to call the FBI's tips line on 1-800-CALL-FBI (225-5324).

Human beings are perhaps the only species that has the neurological capacity to experience mysticism. This capacity, perhaps essential for imagination and creativity, has been expressed in various forms throughout history. In this neo pagan era where people openly disdain traditional religion especially Christianity, this mysticism is still expressed in many ways, many of them disturbing and often leading to tragedy. One can only wonder what was going through Laundrie’s mind when he had his final confrontation with this young woman who apparently had her own demons.
I’ve always been inclined toward a sort of ‘nympholepsy’ myself - in the sense of an ecstasy toward something materially impossible.
I’ve always figured that Christian Mysticism was going after the same sort of thing.
It’s still possible that it was an accidental death. Erotic asphyxiation, maybe.
“It’s still possible that it was an accidental death. Erotic asphyxiation, maybe.”
Possible, but I don’t think a jury would by it.
WHO CARES?? Enough with this stupid trivial story that only serves to distract Americans from the Democrat disaster.
This crap is absurd. The skeleton pic is from the popular movie and graphic novel Watchmen. I have it and so do millions of others. Fight Club is one of the best movies of the 90’s. I have it and so do millions of others. Hellboy is a quite good movie. I have it and so do millions of others. Frankenstein is a classic novel and movie. I have it and so do millions of others. I guess than means we’re all potential murderers. SMFH
Agree. NOTHING wrong with those pics.
I like the dark. I haven’t killed my wife.
Depends on the forensic evidence.
“WHO CARES?? Enough with this stupid trivial story that only serves to distract Americans from the Democrat disaster.”
Stupid to you perhaps, but not to others who are into the mystery of what really happened. Why did you even get on this thread if you are so disinterested? By the way there are 24 hours in a day; we are all capable of chewing gum and rubbing our belly at the same time. Politics and a crime story are not mutually exclusive.
There’s plenty of time to think about both, and I think the popularity of this who-dunnit is as an escape route from constant, unrelenting bad political news, 24/7. It is for me. It’s not for you to judge which threads should be of interest to Freepers and which should not.
Stay off the Gabby threads and you won’t get your nose out of joint about this distracting from politics that is ubiquitous and impossible to avoid even if one wanted to. Oh, and stay off all threads that have subject matter other than politics and what the Dems are up to, which is always to no good. Don’t cheat now, lol. Only go on political threads or we’ll be able to catch you making comments on non-political ones. That could be fun. Just sayin ....
“I guess than means we’re all potential murderers”
No, but you and the “million others” you think share the same collective interests as Brian, sure do have weird tastes if you are fixating on this kind of subject matter. Brian fixated on lots of occult, creepy and bizarre interests to the exclusion of other ordinary interests it appears. He even looks the part facially with the shape of his mustache/beard of a devil-like persona. Especially from the side view.
For those who may have missed my initial post re Gabby/Brian referred to on this thread, here it is again. If you’ve already read this, then just skip over it and ignore; it’s not hard to do that, but what I said is perfect for this particular thread that speaks to Brian’s interest in the dark side and perhaps a reason for it:
I figured out what is going on here when the light bulb went on the day before yesterday. I heard on TV a commentator speaking about this Gabby/Brian case who stated that Gabby (who lived with Brian Laundrie and his parents for 2 years) would periodically go back to stay with her own parents when Brian became too much for her to deal with and that Brian “heard voices”. My ears immediately perked up: Brian is a schizophrenic.
That explains so much of Gabby & Brian’s toxic interactions. Highs and lows, paranoia about what Gabby was up to, corralling her off from her friends, controlling (as in his mind he was actually out of control himself) and hearing voices. All classic signs of paranoia and schizophrenia. And schizophrenia most often manifests itself between the ages of 18-23. Brian established his relationship with Gabby at the approx. age of 21; he is now 23.
There is an on-line website that started my thinking he was schizo that shows art that he has done. He is a comic book addict, and drew some of the characters, namely Hell Boy, and others. He also drew other pics that are on this same website of, get this: the devil, a screaming skeleton, knives, or daggers if you prefer dripping with blood, the picture of a man with a wolf’s head, with 3 figures standing behind him holding guns, one of the comic book characters is drawn such that it looks phallic, like a penis.
Schizophrenics, in their art work (I consulted with my friend who is an art therapist with extensive psychology and some training in psychiatry background) about my suspicions, told her about Brian hearing voices, and we studied together while talking on the phone the website showing Brian’s drawings. She totally agrees that Brian is most likely to be schizophrenic.
My friend still has a picture done by one of the schizophrenic patients she did art therapy with while working on the psychiatric ward of a large middle west city hospital affiliated with a prominent University. Many of the schizo patients on the ward where she worked were very bright individuals, some being students at the University where the hospital with the psychiatric ward was located (genius bordering on insanity?). My friend had shown me the picture many years ago (it was a large, maybe 16 x 20 or thereabouts pic) that was framed and hanging on her house wall; it was fascinating.
Schizos in their pics, often use random numerology, numbers strewn arbitrarily about in their paintings. They often put devil figures or heads in their art, and phallic symbols, and knives, or guns or other objects or portrayals of violence. All this coming out of their mentally sick state of mind, the inner turmoil, and it gets worse with age.
Paranoia is another major symptom of this disease, paranoid schizophrenia. And this is what my friend and I agreed that we believe Brian to be, a paranoid schizophrenic. We both wonder if this was already known by Brian’s parents (which could explain their over protectiveness towards their son) and has already been diagnosed as such. Because of HIPPA laws this info would not be divulged to the public, and thus to the media. They are not privy to Brian or Gabby’s mental records. Gabby herself probably has certain mental problems of her own. She self described herself when talking to the police when she and Brian had an altercation, that she was OCD (Obsessive/Compulsive disorder). So mentally toxic meets very mentally toxic (Brian) and the end result is a dead Gabby and a missing Brian.

What are you? The church lady? Please keep your self righteous prosthelytizing to yourself. The life you envision would be hell here on earth where we’d all be tortured with 24/7 Lawrence Welk reruns.
We demand proof of life! ;-)
