... Results One population study and seven clinical studies were identified, which reported D3 blood levels pre-infection or on the day of hospital admission. They independently showed a negative Pearson correlation of D3 levels and mortality risk (r(17)=-.4154, p=.0770/r(13)=-.4886, p=.0646). For the combined data, median (IQR) D3 levels were 23.2 ng/ml (17.4 – 26.8), and a significant Pearson correlation was observed (r(32)=-.3989, p=.0194). Regression suggested a theoretical point of zero mortality at approximately 50 ng/ml D3. Conclusions The two datasets provide strong evidence that low D3 is a predictor rather than a side effect of the infection. Despite ongoing vaccinations, we recommend raising serum 25(OH)D levels to above 50 ng/ml to prevent or mitigate new outbreaks due to escape mutations or decreasing antibody activity. ...

I’ve been taking D3 supplements during the fall and winter (basically start when “daylight savings” time starts) for years, as there’s been hints and signals that vitamin D deficiency is implicated in all sorts of maladies.
That said, this is one more piece of evidence that you just don’t want to be vitamin D deficient, but there are still questions. One being, is there something else common to those individuals with < 50ng/ml, or conversely, with > 50ng/ml besides their serum D levels? Age, fitness level, amount of adipose tissue, any other confounders?
The authors may have corrected for that, didn’t read the whole paper.
Important note: If you regularly take vitamin D in form of a dietary supplement, for low vitamin D intake you should additionally take 100 mcg of vitamin K2 daily or, if you take 5,000 IU of vitamin D or more per day, take 200 mcg of vitamin K2 additionally each day, to ensure that calcium absorbed by vitamin D is not deposited in the arteries.”You can take too much Vitamin D and have real problems with calcium. If you are into high dosing of D3, do some blood work and see where you are at!
And I believe the "D Hammer" saved my bacon back near the start of this WuFlu nonsense. Look it up.
If one has excess vitamin a, the body uses vitamin d faster.
It might be that people with excess vitamin a do worse against the wuhan coronavirus, and that caused this result.

Like you, I’ve been taking D3 and zinc supplements for the past year. My last blood test showed I was at 69ng/ml of D3. Since 51 to 150 ng/mL indicates an increased risk of hypercalciuria, vitamin k helps to prevent that risk. In addition, for C19 prophylaxis, I take quercetin, probiotics, iodine, and liposomal vitamin C supplements. No jabs for my wife and me, despite being elderly and overweight.
They are saying: “Mortality rates from clinical studies were corrected for age, sex and diabetes.”
Once the vitamin d level reaches 32 ng/ml, the body starts deactivating vitamin d. If my level is 32 ng/ml, I wouldn’t try to increase it with supplements.
52 is a perfectly fine vitamin D level. Anything above 40 and below 101 is likely to be “good enough”. But increasing your D-3 supplement from 2000 IU to 4000 IU is also fine. Fauci takes 6000 IU/day.
More important is to also supplement vitamin K2, to make sure vitamin D puts calcium into your bones and not into your blood vessels.
Don’t forget ECGC OR Quercetin. These open up the channels in the cell which are then filled with Zinc.
Good information. Thank you !
Before the plandemic I had been taking VitD3 daily for years. Was never sick. Now that we’re in the middle of this evil, man-induced plandemic, I’ve increased the dosage to 10,000 IU/day. Never been a problem. YMMV.
D3 can work miracles
Had posted one like that before - virus masks simply do not stop them.
That Quercetin is in red wine and onions and green tea (I take the green tea extract).
We live in a sunny climate most of the year. About Feb2020 we started taking 2500iu D3. In June had a blood test and level was 30. Doctor thought this was fine except Freepers pointed us to a site that said anything under 30 is deficient. We doubled to 5000 day and honestly haven’t followed up for another blood test. Thanks to you, we’ll get tested again soon.
You are correct. Lockdowns are the opposite of what should’ve been recommended. People should’ve been told to go outside and get exercise as well as vitamin D from sunshine. In the United States at least, I never heard any of our leading “experts” (scientists/politicians) recommend ways to build immunity through healthy living.
It depends...I take @ 10,000iu a day (and K2) to keep mine @ 50-60...I’d like it to be @70...just had the bloodtest, so will know soon my current level.
I take Quercetin, C, D3, 100 zinc, a large multi-vitamin each day...and melatonin at nighttime.
I have several brands of each supplement and rotate through them... if one brand is deficient the rest can take up the slack. I change brand every day.
I have 5000mg of IVM on hand.
I know where to go get Regeneron infusion.
I’m trying to find some new hospital-grade oxygen generators to buy... this is proving a challenge and the home-grade ones only do about 7 liters. I have the solar array to power them if need be.
On the lookout for a nice used re-certified Lifepak 15
It seems as if a lot of people who have been regularly taking these supplements haven’t been getting sick, at all.... could it be that we’ve figured out the cure for the common cold?

Excess can be a problem. Foods have more vitamin a than we need.
