Not directly to your point but a similar trail was blazed from amantadine (long a generic of Symmetrel, an anti-Parkinson’s drug) to Tamiflu. Amantadine had been noted to ameliorate flu symptoms in people who had contracted influenza. So the pharmaceutical company picked it up. made a minor chemistry change by attaching a methyl group, and marketed it as Tamiflu. In their defense, you’d have to say going through clinical trials and achieving FDA indication is mega bucks, but I’ll bet they never ran a head to head against amantadine. But nobody was going to run the trials for a generic to get a new indication, so in the long run it’s a win despite the cost difference of Tamiflu vs. amantadine.There never was the concerted effort to suppress off label use of amantadine for flu that there has been to suppress ivermectin.

The Delta Variant did not become the dominant strain in the UK until June of 2021. The statistics that you are citing are basically worthless. The game changed when the Delta Variant and others made the experimental vaccines obsolete. Before that time they had value; now they do not.
The question is—what happened to polio after the polio vaccine?

And if 100% of the people were vaxed then 100% that die from covid (because the Vax isn’t perfect) are vaxed. But that doesn’t tell you whether the Vax works compared to no vax.
As you say, one needs to know the % of people vaxed to arrive at any meaningful conclusion. The higher the % of Vaxed the higher the % of people that die are vaxed.
Just looked up that number for the UK and 82% of over 16 years of age have gotten both shots as of last week. Don’t know what the average % was over the past 7.5 months.
Sadly we’re in a world of “lies, damned lies and statistics”. And both sides manipulate statistics to push their agenda.
Bottom line, you need to do some really deep digging of your own to uncover the truth, and even then you have to be aware of your biases, else you end up fooling yourself.

Polio is a different beast. Virologists correctly predicted that vaccines would lose their effectiveness against the original Fauci/CCP strain quickly. That is why the drug companies introduced the experimental mRNA vaccines; they were suppose to maintain their efficacy for a longer period of time. But the experiment has now failed in a spectacular fashion.
But fear not. As India demonstrated in an incredible way, Delta can be treated effectively with good and inexpensive protocols for those who develop symptoms. And what people are left with is actual immunity against Covid that is many times more effective than any current vaccine can provide.
The thing that I find disturbing is that the vast majority of doctors and health care providers who were participating on this forum have now disappeared. Too bad that so many here attacked them viciously for sharing their points of view.

The CDC specifically stopped tracking breakthrough cases for those who got the vaccine.
