Should we be concerned that our children are being fed this “game” in our public library system ?
On one hand I do NOT want any part of cancel culture but is THIS appropriate for distribution in our public library system ?
At what point do parents rise up and say THIS is not ok?

Previous thread on this game
Looks like there is a push to get this game in front of youth any into the public schools.
I have no idea if the game itself is caustic. It may be a
benign game, but I do not like it being pushed as a game
Hitler played. It contributes to the humanization of Hitler,
something that should never be done, especially with Children.
One has to ask this question. Why the hell are they playing
this game up as a game Hitler played, with so many competing
things out there that have no connection to him.
The overall judgement of the people running our public
services like schools and libraries is about as suspect as
it could get these days.
Pulling willing trannies off the streets these days to
read to kids is bad enough. Now they want to make it
seem like Hitler liked to play fun games.
It boggles the mind that grownups could be this stupid.
Where do you see anywhere that it’s claimed Hitler played this game?
This is a super fun game with a very unique premise. Don’t judge a book by it’s cover or a game by its name. It’s not promoting an agenda or anything.
Yes, it doesn’t say that does it.
A reading of this could sound as if it was a secret game
played by Hitler.
Instead it’s evidently an exercise of finding the secret
Hitler in the group.
Thanks for questioning my perception.
Yes it does promote an anti-Trump agenda. The makers of the game are hardcore commies, and they even had a Trump Administration ‘expansion’ for the game.
In the post I am linking these comments to, I addressed an
issue improperly.
I read the title to mean that Hitler had secretly played this
game. It was written clearly enough, but I did take it the
wrong way, so I addressed why the powers that be would find
this game to be so intriguing since it was rumored that
Hitler played it. That was a false premise and I apologize.
This is instead a game of finding the Hitler in the group
playing the game. It’s evidently a hypothetical sleuth
game.
+1. This is a social deception game. They’re very popular right now. Games like this and Among Us are a blast. I’ve played these games with family members at big get togethers. It takes the mood away from the BS going on in the world and helps us to laugh for a few hours. This is much ado about another.
I’ve played this and I think it’s harmless. It’s more a political type game than pushing fascism.
Here’s a description of the game:
Secret Hitler is a dramatic game of political intrigue and betrayal set in 1930s Germany. Each player is randomly and secretly assigned to be a liberal or a fascist, and one player is Secret Hitler. The fascists coordinate to sow distrust and install their cold-blooded leader; the liberals must find and stop the Secret Hitler before it’s too late. The liberal team always has a majority.
At the beginning of the game, players close their eyes, and the fascists reveal themselves to one another. Secret Hitler keeps his eyes closed, but puts his thumb up so the fascists can see who he is. The fascists learn who Hitler is, but Hitler doesn’t know who his fellow fascists are, and the liberals don’t know who anyone is.
Each round, players elect a President and a Chancellor who will work together to enact a law from a random deck. If the government passes a fascist law, players must try to figure out if they were betrayed or simply unlucky. Secret Hitler also features government powers that come into play as fascism advances. The fascists will use those powers to create chaos unless liberals can pull the nation back from the brink of war.
The objective of the liberal team is to pass five liberal policies or assassinate Secret Hitler. The objective of the fascist team is to pass six fascist policies or elect Secret Hitler chancellor after three fascist policies have passed.
Third Reich is my ALL-TIME favorite game EVER! I’ve got a game going right now through email!
One Night Werewolf is an excellent game as well.
One Night Ultimate Werewolf is a fast game for 3-10 players in which everyone gets a role: One of the dastardly Werewolves, the tricky Troublemaker, the helpful Seer, or one of a dozen different characters, each with a special ability. In the course of a single morning, your village will decide who is a werewolf...because all it takes is lynching one werewolf to win!
This game is about finding and stopping Hitler. One team is fascists and the other team trying to stop them. If anything we should have more of this to encourage critical thinking and analysis. Would also be great to have an anti-Communist version.
Making much about nothing.
I played many Avalon Hill war games.
I was thinking more on the line of The Russian Campaign, with a Swastika/Hitler Counter and a Hammer and Sickle for Stalin.
Of course, a good round of Advanced Squad Leader might bring in the SS or Soviet Guards.....
Oh please. It’s a board game. Check out the video at Amazon describing how to play. It’s educational as it pits liberals against fascists.
They're the same thing.
