A Florida man landed behind bars after attempting to trade in a car to the same dealership he stole it from, police said.
Timothy Wolfe, 50, is facing charges of grand theft of a motor vehicle, dealing in stolen property, criminal mischief, and petit theft, according to the Lake City Police Department.
Early last week, Lake City police responded to a report of a stolen vehicle at a Chrysler Dodge Jeep dealership.
According to investigators, employees told officers that Wolfe was trying to trade in his vehicle for a new ride but when a VIN search was performed, Wolfe’s trade-in wasn’t his after all.
The car was stolen was the same dealer lot a few days earlier and Wolfe found himself in an awkward situation.
Wolfe, 50, admitted to police that he stole the vehicle, police said, and the crime was captured on the dealer’s surveillance video system.
Wolfe was arrested on charges including grand theft of a motor vehicle and criminal mischief and booked into the Columbia County Detention Center.

Wolf as he was being arrested: Grand Theft Auto 18.0 should have a feature where you sell your stolen car back to the original owner.
Floridaman cannot be stopped; you can only hope to contain him.
I know it is just the breaks but ‘FloriDUH Man’ strikes again! Maybe it is good that we leave the ‘smart’ ones for the other states!
Maybe a Tonka Toy...
I had a case on LI, way back when, where someone was stealing cars off the dealership lots. But get this, he would steal a Lincoln, a week later a Cadillac and leave the Lincoln there, after a week or so there would be a report that a Chrysler was stolen and they found a Cadilac in the lot. It wasn’t in that order, he/she would take a car and also drop it off at a different dealer same car make and ride of with another one. Never did find out if they got him/her or not. It was a comical crime.
So he was just “borrowing” the cars. He created his own unsanctioned car rental agency.
He’s just learning from Fauci’s fraud.
Invent a virus.
Invent a “vaccine.”
Release the virus.
Sell the “vaccine.”
This guy simply stole the car, created a need at the dealership for the car, then offered to sell them the car he happened to have that they were missing and needed.
Geez...did the BTK killer get out?
Lemon law?
