My wife and I had both shots, and got the Chinese Virus last month. Neither of us required hospitalization, but three weeks later we both tire easily. She who got hit harder by the virus is now being treated for blood clots which are apparently a common side effect. I still haven’t regained my sense of taste although it does seem to be coming back.

We are both ‘up there’ in age. Hopefully the shots made our cases less serious, but who knows? As someone posted, it is very hard to trust information we get from the government since what we are being told changes so often. I realize it is a ‘new’ virus and there are still things to be learned about it, but I wish there were some sort of trusted source of info.

For example, having had both the shots and the virus, should we be eager to get a booster?

I have enjoyed reading your posts even when I do not agree with them. I am sincerely sorry for the losses you have suffered because of COVID. I have no doubt your defense of the 2nd Amendment and indeed the rest of our Constitution will continue unabated. I do hope you will not make any absence permanent.

I did not take the experimental jab and I am glad I did not. I’ve done my research and determined there were too many side effects and not enough knowledge about this never-before-used mRNA biotech. I am also Covid recovered; no need for a jab... I have an immunity many times over what the jab provides. This decision is looking to have a negative impact on my employment - which is completely anti-science and not good healthcare. It is all risk and no reward (get the jab, no matter what, natural immunity does not count!) Hopefully we will wake up from this insanity, and people who want to take highly risky untested medicine are free to do so... and those who don’t want or need it are free to make the best decision for their own healthcare - free from draconian threats of exclusion, rejection, and unemployment. It has simply become ridiculous.

Please don’t let the ignorant yahoos cause you to leave. They are in the minority, including on Free Republic. As you can see from their stupid comments most of the thinkers just kind of avoid their brainwashed dribble. Hang tough with us conservatives who understand reality and are not going to bend to the yahoo’s on either side.

You seem to be succumbing to the cult. My wife and I (both 60+ and UNvaccinated) are almost completely recovered from COVID. While it was a rough 2-1/2 weeks I wouldn’t wish on anyone, there never was a time where I thought we were in danger. I realize the virus can be dangerous for a few, but I think our experience is probably most typical. We were able to get the monoclonal antibody treatment, but I think it was a little late to do much good. It’s a relief to have it over and done with!

Ever made ginger beer? It is a lengthy process. First you start with yeast... any old yeast, be it bakers or brewers or whatever. You feed it and make it happy. Then you introduce just a little ginger because ginger kills yeast. Most of the yeast dies but some are more tolerant than others. So you feed and add more ginger and feed and add more ginger until the yeast is happy as a clam with ginger in their food. After a while the yeast dont care about the ginger, in fact do better with it and you can brew ginger beer.

Unfortunately you are too dumb to connect dots, so have a ginger beer instead.

Eventually Covid is not going to be the main discussion on Freerepublic. We’ll get back to being normal someday.

To each his own...I’m 70 years old and I haven’t had a flu shot in 40 years, nor a cold...although I do get a runny nose sometimes when I eat chicken noodle soup.

The difference with me is, at the advice of my Special Forces battalion medic, 40 years ago, I started taking immune system supplements and haven’t been sick since. I’ve been to some real $hit-hole countries and only got an occasional stomach problem when I got back to eating American food. I’ll take the vaccine when I regain trust in my government....which will probably be.....never.

The Wuhan virus is easily treatable early in an infection with hydroxychloroquine+zinc, Ivermectin, and nebulized hydrogen peroxide. It is treatable at any time with high dose vitamin C, as is mandated by law in Shanghai China http://orthomolecular.org/resources/omns/v16n16.shtml .

But in the USA a person has to be well-prepared to treat themselves at home, otherwise they should get a vaccine in spite of the unusually high risks.

And even if you decide to get the vaccine, you should also prepare to treat yourself at home, since the vaccines are no guarantee against catching a mutated virus.

And now those of us who took the vaccine twice without full knowledge of the risks, need to decide if we keep on taking booster shots knowing that each shot is Russian roulette for heart inflammation and other side effects. Unless I’m missing something obvious, it’s not that easy to make a rational decision about it. I’m hoping that some new vaccine, maybe Novavax, will be conspicuously safer than the Pfizer, Moderna, and J&J vaccines.

The mRNA encodes a foreign protein.

It induces your body’s natural genetic apparatus to produce this foreign protein. So then you have a particle from a virus now being made in your own body.

And they have no idea what effects it will have.

Here is my approach. I hesitated getting the vaccine until some family members got COVID. They are young people and had mild cases, but I am in the high-risk category, so I got the shot. Afterwards, my employer (an agency of the state of Illinois) started to require it. At least I got it by my own choice. I had no side effects, not even a sore spot. My wife had mild flu-like symptoms for a day after each dose. On the very day I got the first shot, I found out that one of my cousin’s kids, in his thirties, had stopped breathing when he got his shot, but he is okay now.

I have read so much conflicting, contradictory information about the vaccination and the disease — on FR and everywhere else—that I have stopped believing anything I read about them. In fact, I have stopped reading about them. I did what I thought was the right thing, and whatever happens from here on out is in the hands of God. I mean that, literally, and I am okay with that.

When I got the J&J in March they told us that it wouldn’t necessarily prevent us from getting COVID but our symptoms would be as bad.

I just had a D-Dimer test and it was negative - nevertheless I’m taking ivermectin, quecertin, zinc, D3, C, iodine and full aspirin as mentioned by Dr McCullough to help avoid clots. I’ve had moments of not feeling so great and most others with no problem.

This whole thing is unpredictable - you can die from the virus and die from the “vaccine”. Seems like chances are better to recover naturally in most cases...unless you’re fat or old.

Wish we could throw Fauci and cohorts in prison for crimes against humanity.

This is a decent thread - you ought to reconsider leaving.

There is a sizeable contingent of FReepers who no longer seem to understand the concept of FREEDOM.

I CHOSE to get vaccinated....my CHOICE.

If the vaccination is even half of what it is claimed to be I really don’t give a rat’s rump whether anyone else is vaccinated or unvaccinated, masked or unmasked, coughing or calm, close or distant!

I am pro VOLUNTARY vax.
I am barely tolerant VOLUNTARY mask.
I am anti MANDATORY vax.
I am vehemently anti MANDATORY mask.

Naturally, I am anti “vaxxport” or “vaccine passport”.

I resent being presumed guilty until proven innocent.

And I do not need to “feel safe” by knowing that everyone in a venue has dutifully shown their papers.

But for that certain contingent, the only credential that matters is being “anti-vaxx”.
