THE TOMB of an ancient Egyptian king who lived around 4,500 years ago has been restored and opened to the public.
King Djoser's death thousands of years ago was honoured by the building of the stunning South Tomb but his body remains in the nearby Step Pyramid....
....Guests enter through a large rectangular entrance and then down 98 feet to a labyrinth of corridors below.
There is a burial chamber in the tomb but it is seen as too small to have been anything more than symbolic....

Some believe that Imhotep was Joseph, the son of Isaac.

I like that Egyptians had electric lights installed on the floors of their tombs. That way, when you wandered around as a mummy, you wouldn't get lost in the dark among the many corridors. Though I suppose after a few thousand years of this, you'd know them pretty well anyway.

And those lights have been burning for thousands of years.
Just think of all that energy!
This is probably what started global warming.

    Actually those are LEDs
The change over to LED at Luray Caverns in Virginia made a big difference. Quite stunning.

    Maybe.
I saw a video from a young scholar where he was able to show that Jewish scholars added 30 years to each of the Patriarchs when they had children, because they objected to Jesus being the Christ. When you correct for those thirty years of the Patriarchs, the Egyptian timeline and the Bible time lines aligns.
I wish I could find that video. It was very convincing to me.

    That sounds fascinating Jonty30.
I dimly remember some TV show from my youth where a scholar showed that one of those two timelines was out of whack, with archeological evidence to support his claim.
If I ever find that show I will ping you.

I made a thread about it, because found the video.

I made a mistake in my claim. They added 100 years, not thirty.

The steel beams were installed in modern times to hold up the crumbling stone.
