The variant appears to be more closely related to the original coronavirus strain and originated from Japan.
Experts have discovered a new COVID-19 variant at a nursing home in Kentucky.
The new R.1 variant has previously unseen characteristics that have some scientists worried, according to Epoch Times,
The variant appears to be more closely related to the original coronavirus strain and originated in Japan. Nearly all the residents at the nursing home in Kentucky were vaccinated, yet the new strain seems to have infected them regardless.
R.1 has now received over 10,000 entries in the GISAID SARS-CoV-2 database, the world's largest for the virus and where researchers go to track and record genomic data.
According to a science writer at Forbes magazine, the new strain may be easier to contract due to protein mutations within the spike protein of the virus.
So far the R.1 variant does not seem more deadly than previous variants, but its ability to be easily transmitted from person to person despite vaccination status does have scientists on edge.

Ever notice how we seem to get things under control with reports of covid cases declining and then almost like clockwork....a new variant shows up.
I predict the 873rd variant will be the bad one. No wait, the 666th variant. Avoid that one.

This crap will never end. It’ll be perpetual.
“This is exhausting”.
It certainly is.
“Some scientists” is the operative phrase. Who cares if they are on edge? Other scientist are not on edge and I bet there are more than just a few who post here. It’s obvious from the replies we (FR) have M.D.’s, R.N.’s and Ph.D.’s here who are raising the BS flag on all of this.

The “R.1” variant not that “new”...been around in Kentucky skilled nursing facilities since April:
https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/70/wr/mm7017e2.htm
That was back before we knew the vaccines would crap out in eight months.
the official position is there is no natural immunity
Another vaccine created mutant virus?
Yes they can, but the effects of the variant would most likely be reduced since natural immunity engenders a broader and longer lasting immunity than the vaccines..
The vaccine “craps out” as you say in days...your body’s antibody/T-cell response is what is declining over time. Declines faster in the elderly and immunocompromised.
Who would have guessed a centrally planned immunity works about as well as a centrally planed economy?
Who would have guessed selectively breeding the virus for vaccine evasion could have resulted in strains that get around these over focused immunity schemes?
Its almost like giving someone antibiotics and killing off the most vulnerable bacteria and then stopping to let the ones with any resistance go on and multiply.
Who could have foreseen any of this?

Here is a little context for the fear porn merchants. Tracking it since March and yet only 10,000 cases of this “high infection” variant are reported?”
From the article:
“(The outbreak reportedly began with an infected staffer.) “
Same as what happened in Washington state early on in the pandemic, staffer at a nursing home brought it in...
But, the larger issue with this variant is, if they’ve been tracking it since March, why bring it up now?
To keep people afraid.
Screw this nonsense
We need to make it end NOW
BOYS AND GIRLS
it’s a dangerous world Filled with viruses. Bacteria. Molds. Etc
We cannot live life in fear anymore.
We must just accept what is in the world and deal with it
Australia is what we get when taken to the next level
Here if idiots try that. They will be shot.
You doubt me ? Do you want dead people ? Real ones ?
