SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. — The search for Gabby Petito's fiancé, Brian Laundrie, resumed Tuesday in the area he reportedly had last been, North Port police said.
He's a person of interest in Petito's disappearance amid what the department calls an FBI-led criminal investigation.
A police spokesperson says authorities will be searching for Laundrie in the Carlton Reserve where it was believed he went hiking about a week ago.
"This time, moving in from the Venice side of the area, along with adjoining lands. A weekend ground search and aerial search Monday of the 25-thousand-acre preserve has yet to yield any answers, but we must press on," spokesperson Josh Taylor said.
"Please be aware, the Carlton Reserve is a vast and unforgiving location at times. It is currently waste deep in water in many areas.
"This is dangerous work for the search crews as they are wading through gator and snake-infested swamps and flooded hiking and biking trails."

Who knows? I saw a story that someone fitting Laundrie’s description was caught on a trail camera in the area.

Yes, people set out automatic cameras on deer trails to see where and when they congregate for hunting season..................
His mother and father told cops he said he was going to the Carlton Reserve. May have been a head fake.
A guy was spotted here in my county, Okaloosa in the panhandle under Alabama, on a deer cam near Baker Florida, about 500 or so miles away, that looked just like him..................
I have numerous trail cams throughout our property.
Not just for deer watching, as they’re everywhere around here but I like to keep up with Bears, and Elk, Cougars, Wolves and even trespassers.
Not all trail cams are for hunting. It’s a fun harmless hobby for many.
The deer hang out and sleep around the house or very close.
My 3 large German Shepherds keep the predators away and the deer feel safe, they raise their young around us.
It sounds lime a waste of time since a hunter up in Baker County in the Panhandle caught Laundrie on his game camera.
