SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. — The search for Gabby Petito's fiancé, Brian Laundrie, resumed Tuesday in the area he reportedly had last been, North Port police said.

He's a person of interest in Petito's disappearance amid what the department calls an FBI-led criminal investigation.

A police spokesperson says authorities will be searching for Laundrie in the Carlton Reserve where it was believed he went hiking about a week ago.

"This time, moving in from the Venice side of the area, along with adjoining lands. A weekend ground search and aerial search Monday of the 25-thousand-acre preserve has yet to yield any answers, but we must press on," spokesperson Josh Taylor said.

"Please be aware, the Carlton Reserve is a vast and unforgiving location at times. It is currently waste deep in water in many areas.

— North Port Police (@NorthPortPolice) September 21, 2021 Authorities have been searching the Carlton Reserve on and off since Saturday. Laundrie's family told police they believed he entered the area earlier that week. This area covers more than 80 miles of hiking trails.

Sounds like a pleasant place to hike, I'm more of the grizzly bear and mountain lion infested trails type of guy.

Well then, go home if it's so rough.

You want to search or cry about it?

There’s probably crazy people cooking meth out there too.
Florida away from the Ocean or Gulf is crazytown.

He's a person of interest in Petito's disappearance amid what the department calls an FBI-led criminal investigation.

Things seem to be progressing.

In before that Florida Freeper guy starts posting about how those Damn Yankees from New York City led the North Port cops on a wild goose snipe hunt in alligator infested swamps and how they all need to get arrested and whatnot - including the parents, the sister, the lawyer and also the woman that serves them coffee out the Dunkin Donuts window over on South Sumter Boulevard.

I would hope they’re explaining why it’s slow going.

You wouldn't by chance be looking for an argument, would you?

This thread is for abuse, arguments are in the Biden threads today...

Mosquitos would have driven him out in a night. I doubt he went in there, unless it was to off himself.

One could commit suicide and never be found.

My place backs up to a section of that preserve. I have an 800 acre back yard.
I have a trail cam out back and see Bob Cats Deer and Boar. Maybe I will see some dirty laundry

Possibly but if they thought it was suicide or an animal attack, it wouldn’t be a criminal investigation.

Sounds like a great place to hike and camp outdoors for a week.
I really don’t believe he went anywhere near the place. It’s a ruse and a rather clever one because it’s buying Laundrie boy even more time to disappear. His ability to avoid detection points to a very organized person who is in complete control of his actions. He’s running circles around the FIBs.

I guess he’s killed himself and wants his remains to not be found.

Or to become gator bait. I also have my doubts that Brian is hiding out in that swamp. He had at least a three day head start from the time he took off to when his parents informed the authorities.

I’ve read that he hikes and camps there a lot because he’s a loner with no friends so who knows......
