It’s not just the alcohol that’s giving this beer a kick.
Along with soy sauce and dashi bonito stock, you can usually find a bottle of Tabasco in the kitchen of our reporter K. Masami, and like most Japanese fans of the fiery condiment, she uses it to add some kick to pizza and pasta. Recently, though, she was wondering what other foods she could use it on, and so she took a look at the official Tabasco Japan Instagram account.
Instead of a suggested dish to sprinkle a few drops into, though, she got a drink recommendation.

where is my snap-e-tom?
When faced with cheap beer, I’ll add jalapenos.
is there any hot sauce more over hyped than tabasco?
I used to buy a bottled beer that had a jalapeno in it years and years ago.
serrano’s
“though, she was wondering what other foods she could use it on”
I initially read it as “fools”..
Tobasco is plain nasty and I love hot sauce.
I drown stuff in hot sauce.

Crazy Ed’s Cave Creek Chili Beer! A personal favorite!
in Japan, Taiwan and some SE Asian places, they serve beer and tomato juice at a 50/50 ratio, especially in hot weather.
I find the flavor OK, but some really like it, as the acid of tomato matches the carbs/sweetness of lager.
Hot sauce is a similar extension of that.
Beer is for drinking not adulterating.
it is way low on my list of hot sauces, but they give you a little bottle if the vinegary stuff in every MRE, presumably to make your boot taste better.
I ended up with hundreds of bottles of tabasco I never used and I love hot sauce!
Sriracha sauce and Brew is good for you. You can become a flame thrower in the men’s room.
Some people will add hot sauce to their hot sauce. They become mildly addicted to feeling that burn.
try Tiger sauce it works with everything
I always figured that anyone adds stuff to beer doesn’t like beer. Kind of like adding stuff to coffee. I have seen people add ice, salt and the worst, vanilla milkshake to beer. The vanilla shake guy added alcohol to about everything he drank.
I do like the Tabasco Scorpion. It is hot but not insanely so. A few shakes on eggs works well. You dont need to use as much as regular Tabasco so the vinegar isn’t as big a distraction. Fermenting your own sauce is still the best way to go IMHO, but T.S. isnt bad.
I think with Tobasco it’s more about aromatics vs. flavor.
Their Green Sauce is ok but there is better.
I used to drink that years ago. Could only find sold by the single bottle at a little store in BFE northern Michigan.
It left a nice burn on the lips as I remember.
30 years ago in the Philippines I discovered “Canadian Prairie Fire”, a shooter of Yukon Jack and a healthy 8-10 splashes of tobacco. I was already a dozen shots to the wind, but it was still terrible.
