I read a story that their were “dozens” of police and FBI searching for him in some park. and in the same story the police said that he wasn’t wanted for a crime.
They are looking mighty hard for a man not wanted for a crime.

Until her body was found there was no ‘crime’. Yes, everyone knew there was likely a crime, but police aren’t supposed to move on a suspect until there is some concrete evidence that a crime in fact occurred.

I believe he was declared a missing person, and that’s what cops do in those cases.
In this case, they have more than one reason.
