An Iowa teacher shared how she circumvents her state's ban on teaching critical race theory by telling students what she can't teach them - then encouraging their questions about the subject.
Petra Lange, who described herself as 'a secondary educator at a predominantly white high school in a suburban district' and an adjunct professor at Simpson college, first told students: 'We need to take a look at HF-802.'
'I literally put the law in front of them,' she said at the online forum titled UnBan Anti-Racism Education In Iowa. The HF-802 law was signed into effect by Iowa Gov Kim Reynolds on June 8, 2021 and bans public schools from teaching mandatory lessons on 'divisive topics' such as critical race theory...
...Lange, who teaches a course called Gender And Race Culture, then told her students they could ask as many questions as they'd like in an apparent loophole that allows her to inform them about CRT without breaking the law....

If the law says not to teach it, she shouldn’t be teaching it. It should be grounds for dismissal regardless of the format.
Someone needs to phone in that she’s teaching kids about the MAGA agenda so she gets SWATTED at 4am by 50 FBI agents
I’m sure she isn’t alone.
They really need to use Federal civil rights laws against these school districts. They are creating a hostile, discriminatory environment for white children. They are spreading racism against whites.
There are a lotta ways to skin the cat, unless the cat objects.
So many evil idiots. So little rope.
Fire her ass.
Maybe some teachers in states that mandate this critical race theory can explain to their students why government says it has to be taught and encourage questions to its validity.
Obviously a leftist. That should be reason to terminate her employment. You know, hire and fire at will. Yeah, in my dreams.
She’s using a round about. Having students ask questions. Clearly the idiots in iowa didn’t think of this when writing the law. Darn.
What if she said to the kids, “ we can’t talk about Jesus and the Bible,, its against the law, but YOU can ask about it “. Its time to stop playing strictly by the rules. They are all man made up anyway.
Isn’t Iowa one of the whitest states in the country?
She/her? Sounds more like “it/its” to me!
Bingo.
Only in winter.
“Lange, who teaches a course called Gender And Race Culture...”
Gender And Race Culture is a secondary education course?? If done right, maybe as a section in a Social Studies course, but I don’t believe it needs to be a complete course in High School.
I’ve been wondering in what course all of these teachers want to teach CRT.
I remember my little sister using tactics like this to circumvent the rules. She was 11...
