SpaceX CEO Elon Musk helped achieve the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital fundraising goal of the Inspiration4 spaceflight, just hours after his company returned the crew from orbit....
.."Count me in for $50M," Musk said in a tweet on Saturday...
...The spaceflight achieved multiple milestones, including: The first private SpaceX spaceflight, the first entirely nonprofessional crew to become astronauts, the first Black female spacecraft pilot, the youngest American astronaut to date, and the first person to fly in space with a prosthesis....

God bless him!
However, one of the St Jude hospitals got totally douche in mandating staff vaccinations.
You’re not a vaxhole, right?
Elon should make a large donation to FreeRepublic so they don’t have to beg for money every quarter. He’s fairly conservative, isn’t he?
St. Jude is a big deal in our area; there are several of their physicians who live in our neighborhood. Two of them are right around the corner, a three minute walk.
Even in the 1970’s there was a kid in the neighborhood St. Jude saved from leukemia. His mother worked at KFC and was raising three kids who were abandoned by their father. St. Jude saved the kid’s life, free of charge.
The PA on the flight was a St. Jude patient herself. Please give if you can can.
They work miracles.
There is only one St. Jude, started by Danny Thomas. It is in downtown Memphis Tennessee. I think he must have been Syrian Christian because they have Arabic script on the building.
Don’t know about the vaccine mandate, but considering it doesn’t slow viral transmission then it’s a mistake. At this point we must ask ourselves if we can even contain the virus or let it run its course. Humans are neither invincible nor infallible. Some things we cannot do.
Admit it. We would be better off with the truth than false promises.
BEG FOR MONEY??? YOU MUST BE ON WELFARE OR A GOVERNMENT WORKER!!!!
IF YOU ARE USING THIS SITE, IT DOESN’T COME FREE FOR THE USE OF THE SERVERS, BUB......tightass.
Elon is his own animal and not a as;?$ole billionaire like American ones can be. He is liberal in his views but doesn’t seem illiberal in his attitudes like Zuckerberg or Dorsey.
Be a monthly donor, FREEPERS.
there’s only one, right?
4,000 employees of SpaceX volunteered as guinea pigs for a vaccine under development. Tesla has had mask mandates for a while. So I’d say his crews are more vaccine tolerant sorts.
Of vaccines, back in September 2020, Musk said he wouldn’t get the vaccine but since then he’s expressed support for the vaccine research and donated $5M to Beth Israel Lahey Health, Ragon Institute for vaccine development. His latest comment being ‘the science is “unequivocal’ but he hasn’t said publicly whether he has personally been vaccinated. I don’t know if the vaccine mandates will apply to spaceX or Tesla but being a govt contractor, probably.
Appreciate the details regarding Danny Thomas and the Arabic script.
Hope to follow up with solid references.
dontcha hate it when it just comes out wrong? I do that once in a while.
I donate to the site almost every FReepathon because I like the ability to engage in intellectual discourse without being bombarded by ads and cookie trackers every 5 minutes. I hate that!
Danny Thomas was a Lebanese Christian.
Yes, he was Lebanese Christian. There used to be a lot of them in Lebanon, when it was not sop horrible, and Beiruit was the Paris of the MidEast.
Thomas’ parents were Maronite Christian immigrants from Bsharri, Lebanon.
I’ve grown to like Musk. First I hated him as a socialist grifting off taxpayer subsidies. He got mugged by liberals and is starting to see the light.
Idiotic insults aside, get back to me when you don’t see the screeching headlines and big line across the top of the screen because so many people voluntarily give that it isn’t necessary. And yes, I have donated.
Congratulations to SpaceX on a truly inspirational flight. Quite an adventure for these amateur astronauts! Hopefully the first flight of it’s kind in a new age of space travel.
Thanks, I was one country to the east then.
