I for one applaud Biden for withholding Regeneron.

Posted on 09/18/2021 9:57:24 AM PDT by MNDude

just saw videos today of an abortionist admitting Regeneron is created by dissecting the liver out from a fetus with a live heart. This liver is then used to "humanize" a mouse for further ingredients.

How can we possibly support such a demon drug?

Certainly not for the right reasons, but Joe did the right thing.

Testing, you moron. Testing.

HEK293T are used to test many medicines you have personally benefited from. But HEK293T were not used to produce REGEN-COV-2.

"These are very commonly used cells in research, and most published research involves use of 293s. In our case, these 293T cells were transfected and used in production of a ‘pseudoparticle’ that mimics the virus’ Spike protein and allowed us to test neutralization ability of our antibodies against the virus."

Ivermectin was studied and evaluated for efficacy against SARS-CoV2 using the same HEK293 fetal cell line as Regeneron.

One example study of many:
https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s43440-020-00195-y

Same with hydroxychloroquine vs SARS-CoV2.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7919379/

So even with older repurposed drugs, in vitro testing with HEK293 cells to evaluate efficacy against other pathogens and illnesses is almost universal.

From your Regeneron produced link/pdf....

...The stem cells most commonly used at Regeneron are mouse embryonic stem cells and human blood stem cells. Currently, there are limited research efforts employing human-induced pluripotent stem cell lines derived from adult human cells and human embryonic stem cells that are approved for research use by the National Institutes of Health and created solely through in vitro fertilization.

Research using such stem cells allows Regeneron to model complex diseases, test new drug candidates and can help unlock new scientific insights that ultimately could lead to the discovery of new treatments for people with serious diseases. All of Regeneron’s research conducted on stem cells adheres to federal and state laws and regulations. Regeneron demands from its collaborators and vendors that all human stem cell lines used in its research are from properly consented individuals.

As a company and as individuals, we share a commitment to operating thoughtfully and ethically, particularly while navigating these complex issues specific to the biopharmaceutical industry. We are constantly evaluating our research practices to ensure they abide by the highest standards of scientific and bioethical integrity. We strive to stay on the forefront of responsible scientific innovation to continue making a difference in patients’ lives.

~~~~~~
How do you 'properly consent' to, and, 'ethically' obtain human embryo cells?
Asking for the unborn.
"To be clear," the treatment consists of "antibodies" produced by these cells. Similar to the alcohol you drink excreted from yeast cells, as is many other drugs and medicines today being produced from various other cells derived from a variety of sources.
Biden didn't limit distribution of Regeneron due to worries about Regeneron's method of manufacture. It's far more likely Biden did it to punish red state governors for their stance against forced vaccinations.
This is proof.
Fetal liver samples were obtained from the Human Fetal Tissue Repository at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, NY, and from Advanced Biosciences Resources, Alameda, CA.
And guess who's behind this research (scroll to the bottom of the same document):
Acknowledgments The authors thank the Regeneron Pharmaceuticals' Velocigene team for generating human IL-6 knock-in mice; J. Alderman for managerial support; C. Weibel, E. Henchey, and P. Ranney for technical assistance; and C. Lieber for manuscript submission...... This study was supported by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the National Institutes of Health, National Cancer Institute (R01 CA156689) (R.A.F.), and the American Diabetes Association Research Foundation Mentorship Fellowship (H.Y.). R.A.F. is an Investigator of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute.
I ignore name callers and those who are ok with
1. The willful destruction of human embryos
2. The dissection of children harvested via abortion
Hydroxychloroquine, aspirins, acetaminophen etc etc etc are older drugs that were discovered prior to the development of the HEK293 fetal cell line.
Therefore the existence of those drugs are not dependent upon aborted children
Ivermectin was isolated from avermectin, produced from Japanese soil in the early 1970s. Just because some what job wants to now test it on aborted fetal cell lines does not meant the drug itself is as tainted by abortion as drugs whose very existence would not be without aborted children.
Not all humanized mice are created with aborted fetal tissue. There are other methods, one uses donated adult tissue and another uses donated umbilical cord blood/tissue and donated thymus tissue from infants who have to have emergency heart surgery as apparently the thymus has to be removed or reduced in size in order to access the heart and so it is saved and donated for research.
So do you have direct evidence that Regeneron uses the fetal tissue system rather than the other two methods?
Your first mistake was applauding a Rat. The second was assuming Rats have ethics. The third was the polarizing, emotional assertion that invited the pushback.
You may be right about the fetal harvesting, but that point obviously got lost.
I litterally wrote that in the post you replied to. But both IVM and HCQ efficacy against COVID WAS tested with embryonic cells lines. It’s up to people to draw the line where they are comfortable with the moral compromise. Fortunately, new technologies are providing alternatives that are very effective without the moral dilemma.
what a bunch of drama queens
to expound, the little fetus that was killing its mother, likely an ectopic pregnancy, perhaps a detached placenta, and dying in the process, ended up saving hundreds of millions of lives:
‘The original cells were transformed and immortalized in January 1973 by a young Canadian postdoc by the name of Frank Graham, who was working at the time in Leiden, the Netherlands in the laboratory of Professor Alex van der Eb.
Normally, a cell has a finite number of divisions, but Graham managed to modify these cells so that they divide ad infinitum.
This was his 293rd experiment, hence the name of the line (HEK stands for “human embryonic kidney cells”).
“Use of fetal tissue was not uncommon in that period,”
Graham, a professor emeritus at Canada’s McMaster University who now lives in Italy, told AFP.
“Abortion was illegal in the Netherlands until 1984 except to save the life of the mother. Consequently I have always assumed that the HEK cells used by the Leiden lab must have derived from a therapeutic abortion.”
So you know and can guarantee that this was all from an etopic pregnancy?
Waiting for the proof.
FWIW, I have never heard of surgery to deal with an etopic pregnancy to be called an abortion.
Post 65 is a link to an article about the creation of IL-6 mice to study immune responses to infections.
Regeneron specializes in genetically modified humanized mice that they create in mouse embryos with human DNA. Do you have proof that the DNA sources come from fetal tissues as opposed to the much cheaper and easier to come by adult donation or umbilical cord donation?
