Mystery surrounding the whereabouts of 22-year-old Gabrielle “Gabby” Petito deepened late on Friday, after police in Florida said they were working with the FBI to locate 23-year-old Brian Laundrie, Petito’s fiance who is described as “a person of interest” in her disappearance.
Garrison, the police chief, told ABC: “I can’t speculate as to why he’s not talking, but he has the pieces to the puzzle that we need to find Gabby.”

Weird that there is only one missing person in the entire nation eh. And any news pertaining to this issue automatically knocks any other news to page 4. Or the bottom of the hour. You know like thousands of hatians that swam for their lives to methico with only their cell phones and prepaid debit cards and fresh clothes. And what do they get? Stuck under a bridge with the promise they’ll be flown back to haiti at tax payer expense. Clinton found-ation involved in the initial transport?

Just suppose for a moment that he was innocent.
He could have panicked when they saw they were making a case on him based on circumstantial evidence and gone to ground.
If he was innocent he should have just lawyered up.

Exactly. This has been dragging on for days. I don’t understand the media’s obsessive fascination with this case, especially Fox News. And at the expense of much more headline-worthy events going on.

This is like a form of politically correct speech. Only stooopid people would believe the police just want to ask some innocent questions to “help” find her. Uh huh. Police get to play their role, and the suspect gets to play his role. Despite this publicly ginned up modern day obsession that things have to be wrapped up at the speed of the internet or at least in “48 hours”, there is no rule that a suspect has to help the police and make their job easier and proceed faster to collect the evidence to convict him. The police are trying to use public opinion on this guy - make it impossible for him to be out in public.
A criminal law professor who had decades of private practice experience once told me that the only people dumber than the police were the criminals... and that they weren’t too far apart.
