I think I was more into Cream and the Doors at the time...

Had this in second or third grade. Ended up in a landfill around 1973 along with my Duncan yo-yos and Bobby Orr hockey cards.

“1971 was probably one of the best years for pop music in the entire 20th Century.”

The first albums I got as a kid in 71 were the 2 Partridge Family albums, and Paul McCartney’s “Ram” album.

Point Me In The Direction Of Albuquerque is much underrated. That was my sister’s favorite Partridge Family song. She had the album and a big David Cassidy poster on her wall.

I cried myself to sleep one night because my mother wouldn’t let me go to Hollywood to meet Susan Dey. It is one of my most vivid childhood memories. I was certain Susan would fall for me, a 10-year-old boy, if I could just get my chance!

Too bad my pack rat mother didn’t save that one and the Laugh-In one - highly collectible!
My sister had the "Laugh-In" one, even though we weren't allowed to watch that show. Another sister had the even more collectible "Campus Queen" lunch box, complete with magnets to play the "Campus Queen" game on the back. "Beauty Parlor", skip one turn.

Actually, your “Laugh-in” lunch box is more valuable than “Campus Queen”. I’m surprised. $112 vs. $68.

I still gotta give the crown to
The Monkees (i.e. The Wrecking Crew playing Boyce and Hart songs)

It’s amazing how well those old Monkee’s songs hold up.

"I'll Meet You Halfway", "Doesn't Somebody Want To Be Wanted", and "Umbrella Man" were just a few other standout tracks from that magnum opus Today's hits: "I'll Jab You All the Way," "Doesn't Somebody Want to Be Quarantined," and "Spiked Protein Man."
