The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) reports the number of states with lots of fat people has nearly doubled since 2018.
Four more states have been added to CDC's obesity list since the Covid shutdowns.
Scientists say extreme obesity is a major risk factor for Covid-19.
According to CDC's stats, Asian-Americans are generally not fat. No state had an obesity prevalence at or above 25% among Asians.
The fattest, measured by race, which is how CDC categorizes the statistics, are Blacks. CDC says that 35 states and the District of Columbia have an obesity prevalence at or above 35% among Blacks.
CDC's fat map. Dark red from Texas thru Michigan is most obese. Next in line on the fat train are Hispanic residents. CDC says 22 states have an obesity prevalence at or above 35% among Hispanics.
And 7 states had an obesity prevalence at or above 35% among White residents.
The sixteen states that have the highest adult obesity prevalence are:
Alabama Arkansas Delaware (new this year) Indiana Iowa (new this year) Kansas Kentucky Louisiana Michigan Mississippi Ohio (new this year) Oklahoma South Carolina Tennessee Texas (new this year) West Virginia
Not that it matters, but all of the states on the list except Delaware and Michigan went in the Trump column in the 2020 presidential election.

The Jebs
I was talking about that with my mom the other week. I remember the people my age as teenagers. We were fit and strong. We all worked, even the town kids who would help out on farms for spending money. Especially baling hay and cutting tobacco.
The girls worked around the house and tended the gardens. The country girls were working in the fields when they were old enough.
I can think of only two of my classmates that were considered “fat” back then. Both of them were pampered princesses who would, today, be considered in great shape.
The teenage girls I see today would never have passed muster with the teenage boys back in the day. The overweight teenage boys would have been sent running back home to their mommies.
Now we’re supposed to consider lard assed women as “voluptuous” and equally lard assed men as “big bodied”.
Stop pi$$ing on my shoe and telling me its raining!
Some people are obese accordimg to height/weight charts even when they are at their ideal weight. Body types differ.
Iowans must be sneaking across the Wisconsin border for extra beer and cheese curds! ;)
I don’t believe the color on that chart for Washington DC - it’s full to the BRIM with FAT CATS! ;)
So another common stereotype turns out to be true. Stereotypes usually arise for a reason.
It’s the highly processed, high carb diet they eat. Especially in neighborhoods that have 7-11 instead of a grocery store. Everything they eat or drink comes in a box or a can.
Inner city schools were the first to jettison home economy classes so nobody knows how to cook real food.
Our farm town has a “Land Lab” where town kids can raise beef, swine, lamb and chickens for 4-H and family consumption. And a green house/nursery where they have a plant sale every spring. Kids start in 4th grade.
All of my kids amassed enough money from animal sales to pay for their first two years of community college.
Every time we get a new school administrator, the first thing they want to do is cut that and the music program (we have a bagpipe band). We go through a lot of administrators, because eventually they always touch that 3rd rail.
If you have not noticed, fat black women, and fat white women are being pushed as acceptable representatives of “fit.”
There are rafts of articles and fashion adverts for the very obese. Rather than deal with the problem, it is being mainstreamed as normal.
It’s interesting that Asians are the least obese. Chinese dishes often use a lot of oil and Subcontinental cookery makes heavy use of butter. But you rarely see a fat Chinese or East Indian.
Wealthy also rarely have tats.
My brother has done exceptionaly well in life.
I went to his daughters HS grad party they had catered in the back yard a few years back. Their uber rich friends all showed up.
Besides no fat people except me, I saw zero tats. No weird piercings and no purple hair.
All the girls and women were for most purposes very hot.
“But you rarely see a fat Chinese or East Indian.”
No eating between meals. Like the French. My mother never allowed us to eat between meals or after dinner.
Plentiful food, but never snacks.
EBT cards are a major contributor to fatness.
The French too. Contrary to what many believe the fat in the diet isn’t what makes you fat. It’s sugar and refined carbs which cause excess secretion of insulin which then converts carbs to fat.
For what it’s worth the young Asian girls I see them walking around NYC today look a lot heavier than they did 30 years ago. They’re not necessarily fat but they’ve filled out considerably. Their butts are a lot rounder too. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
Very few Endomorphic somatotypes in that race group.
Dutch, Netherlands
On average the tallest people on the planet.
I heard it referenced during an Olympic Volleyball game.
If that’s true, why aren’t people who eat Danish taller?
Once upon a time I went to a horse jumping event.
First observation, I had never seen so many Cadillac Escalades in my life. The other thing was all the women(riders) were in excellent physical condition.
They were all rich white women in those tight tan riding pants. Some of the RV/horse trailer combos were also very impressive.
