There was a time earlier this summer when April Rivera and the staff at the drive-through Covid testing site in southern Oregon where she worked had considered closing their doors because demand was so low.
Now, hundreds of patients are lining up at the Asante Rogue regional medical center’s testing site in Medford every day, filling the temporary drive-through in a strip mall parking lot. Even the national guard has been called in to help. Some patients are arriving so sick they have been taken away in ambulances while still in line....
...Last month, cases in the Medford area in Jackson county were growing faster than anywhere else in the US, driven by the hyper-contagious Delta variant...
"This is unprecedented,” Ghosh said. “It’s the same peak that New York and Italy experienced. It’s absolutely stunning...

Hospitals have had a year and a half to prepare for any surge.
This shouldn’t even be an issue.
in some areas, they didn’t have a surge last year and didn’t expect one this year. Also depends on how big and who funds the hospital - getting state funds for expansion that may never be needed is fighting for tax dollars same as fed funds.
The only thing stunning are people who believe this
Cranked up the CT counts.
the vaccinated are shedding the virus to every healthy person as well to other vaccinated....
the virus is everywhere, as it should be, and the cabal cdc set the cylces for "positive" so high that everybody can test positive at any time....
Large surge compared to last Winter, but both cases and fatalities peaked about 2 weeks ago and are on the decline:

Just as frantic on the inside as it is outside.

People might not really die from this. just my opinion. waiting for people to get to the ICU ventilators before treating them well leads to a lot of people at the ICU ventilators.
It will be interesting to see if the Delta variant has an impact on the northeast this winter. It’s already made an impact down south.
There is no Delta variant.
Oregon has one of the highest VAX rates in the nation.
We’re experiencing a pandemic of the vaccinated
I think they failed to prove that there is a Covid 19 virus in court 3 or 4 times now, too.
Who writes your checks?
Folks, having to go to Medford, OR is like a NYC reporter travelling to Portland, ME to find a full hospital.
Hint: It’s what they’re NOT reporting which is the most illuminating.
You really are a piece of...work.
But . . . how can this be??? They aren’t DUMB like Texas and Florida! /sarc
not the delta variant
its the vaxx that’s effing them up
why are you so angry over a article that you attack the messenger instead of the story?
here’s Oregon’s interactive map on bed availability to help you find one.
So, those photos makes you not believe the crisis described by the article?
*Oregon has one of the highest VAX rates in the nation*.
well so does calif (70%one/56%two). Norcal may have a lower rate, but the pandemic never ends in So Cal. We had to wait almost a year to get a haircut or dentist, much less a eat-in restaurant.
The article says the cases are coming from unvaccinated areas of the state. Oregon 64%one/58%two
