That’s why I won’t help people with their computers. Every time something goes wrong, it was something I did even if it is years later.

LOL.

Friend had a lemon, was driving when it suddenly started smoking and caught fire.
Friend ran out of the car, was standing there panicked, when he realized “ hey, my car is on fire and will burn up!” Was enjoying the sight, when a good samaritan pulled, jumped from his car with a fire extinguisher and put out the fire.
My friend was like “ NOOOOOOOOO!”....

Yep. I learned that lesson the hard way.

These days, I play dumb. "Sorry but I just don't know much about these new-fangled computers...you say your screen is frozen? Did you try turning it off and on again? Sorry, I just don't know what it could be other than that...back in my day, we just used typewriters and stuff to get work done"

Some years ago, I took my VW Jetta in for an oil change. When I got it back, R no longer worked. They must have had some dipsh*t in there that didn’t know how to shift. Of course they denied any responsibility. I even went to the Arkansas HQ, filed a complaint and of course, they also denied that their ‘professional’ service center had caused the problem. So, I was stuck with it.

Sometimes it's how you handle people. If you go in there fussin' and cussin' "Y'all blew up my car ya bunch a turd wads!" it might lower the odds of them treating you gracefully.

Do you know how she dealt with it for a fact, or are you just assuming because you are projecting?

That's irrelevant anyways.

She had every right to be angry and the store should have done the right thing from the start regardless of how she responded.

I live in Phoenix, and get my car serviced at the dealer. Nonetheless, I’d like to know WHICH Wal-Mart SuperCenter this happened at. I’m gonna guess Bethany Home Road, but it could be the one at the MetroCenter, etc.

Yea, I’m trying to figure out how oil causes massive dashboard problems and then lights on fire. It’s not all that flammable. I’m sure we’ve all dumped oil all over the engine block before to have it catch fire...never.

Walmart will probably make good, but it also makes sense to look into it for a couple days before writing a check.

Similar story, I bought a couple gallons of paint at Home Depot. One of them wasn’t sealed well when they mixed it and dumped all over the back seat footwell.

I called the store and told them. They began to tell me a couple products I could use but I politely interjected with “I’m not calling to ask what I’m going to do, I’m calling to ask what you’re going to do.” (I had to be a little careful, my employer is one of their largest vendors and some of the employees knew who I was)

they asked me to drop it off so they could give it a shot. They did an amazing job cleaning it up. Not a shred of evidence on the carpet. (It was an older car and I told them that I was OK with some residue)

Home Depot did right by me as I’m sure Walmart will with her.

I’m skeptical of this one…

Same here.

I worked at Sears Automotive some 30 years ago and I remember tons of customers who would bring in problematic cars and then try to blame us for issues that had nothing to do with what we worked on.

"You guys changed my oil and now my power windows don't work! They worked just fine before!"

Of course, she has a GoFundMe on this.

I helped one friend multiple times with Malware. I finally said “Maybe I should check your browsing history” and that was the end of that.

Took a truck to Walmart once for tires. All the racks were full so this guy pulls the truck up near one of the racks to reach the air lines, and proceeds to put a floor jack under the center of the differential. I’m sitting in the waiting room watching this, I jump up run out there and told him to get the floor jack away from that differential and to put it on a rack for the new tires. He asked why, and I told him this model specifically states do not lift the truck from the center of differential as damage can occur. Of course this guy could barely speak English and looked at me as if I was abusing him. Gak~

My cousin was one of the people who had the mesh installed for a hernia. Not only did they need to remove it, they had left a sponge or something like that in him. The surgeon agreed to take care of their added bills and so his wife would call the office 3-4 times a week with questions, bills from other doctors etc. and the receptionist got tired of hearing from her and went off on her.

She called the next day and asked to talk to the office manager and informed them that their goal had been to make sure their bills were covered but after the incident with the receptionist, they had hired a lawyer.

The surgeon, office manager did everything they could to try to smooth out the situation but the line had been crossed. I don’t know what their settlement was but I know it allowed my cousin to retire at 59.

I worked at a Porsche parts importer about two miles from a Porsche dealer. A nearly new 911 stalled out right in front of our store and he came in to ask for help. The dealer had just done an oil change and failed to replace the drain plug. They did replace the car.

According to her they offered to make all 3rd party documented repairs and provide a rental car.

I bought tires at Walmart paid extra for lifetime rotate and balance. The first time I went in for a rotation an hour went by so I started asking when my car would be finished. After a few more minutes and a few excuses they finally said we cant rotate your tires. When I asked why not they said they couldn’t get my wheels off the car.
They had removed all of the lug nuts but couldn’t get the wheels off.
I had to go home jack it up remove the lug nuts and hit each wheel with a sledgehammer they popped right off.
Walmart should never be allowed near anyone’s car.
