I need a swivel spray attachment for my kitchen sink – one that converts from spray to stream.
We bought a cheap one on Amazon, and the adapter stripped as my husband was trying to install it. Everything in this line on Amazon seems to be very cheap (and Chinese) – selling for 12 dollars or less – and it’s the same with what I’m finding at the big local hardware stores. I’m willing to pay a lot more for something METAL that actually works, from an actual company.
It’s a typical kitchen faucet, the aerator appears to be 15/16 (which is what they seem to call a 3/4” diameter measurement of the outside (apologies if I’m ignorant about all of this – but we ARE.)
If anyone has a suggestion, I’d greatly appreciate it. (We live in an apartment, and can’t use one of those that attach to an opening and pull out with a hose.)
The funny thing is that many years ago, in our first apartment, we bought a cheap one from a small independent hardware store – and it served us very well for many years.
Thanks.
If you live in an apt then your landlord should be taking care of this. Have his plumber fix it.
Call a good plumber.
My daughter moved into a rental. Had a leak in the bathroom sink. The owner replaced the pipe. It still leaked but he said “Well - with the water here that is such a slow leak it will fix itself in a month.” (He was right! Something about the minerals!!)
But for washing dishes in the sink I figured she needed a better faucet. I forget what I got, but it had the hose on the main spout that you could pull out. The faucet he had was good, but I figured it would be better to have the hose thingy so I just put it in myself and paid for it.
He’s a pretty good landlord, and I figure if my daughter can be a decent tenant (taking care of some stuff herself) things will work out for the best.
Most landlords rarely say no to you improving their property. Good you could do it yourself
Not to butt in on your thread, forgive me but could anyone tell me why my kitchen sinks keeps backing up?
I’ve used a snake, every drain opener in the book. It runs clear for a while, then clogs up again? Any suggestions?
Sorry Jamestown. Good luck with your issue.
It doesn’t need ‘fixing’. I just want it to have a feature that it doesn’t have, and there used to be simple gadgets you could just screw on to the faucet. But nothing I’m finding now works. It all seems to be junk from China.
But thanks to all who responded.
I had a turtle for many years. Margareto was taken by a raccoon while basking in her/his summer pool...
It was a sad day...
I hate raccoons.
I think they like to collect things. I’ve always hoped that Margaret(o) was carried down the storm drain to the creek, and now has many descendants.
They’ve killed too many of my birds and cats. If I see them in the yard, they collect lead.
Do you have chickens?
Not at the moment. I had chickens and a number of types of pheasant. And the occasional turkey, duck or goose.
I like chickens. I’d like to have some laying hens.
Yeah. I might get some banties, just for something different. Lady Amherst Pheasant are pretty calm, too.
Thanks. Looks like at this point I’m going to have to get a pro on the job. *Ugh*.
“Everything but the kitchen sink’’ has taken on a whole new meaning for me.
