Tetsuo Urata is a 56 year old man from the city of Beppu, Japan in Oita Prefecture. Urata has been accused by police there of stealing 730 pairs of women’s bras and panties from laundromats.

Urata Accused Of Underwear Theft. “Tetsuo Urata, 56, was arrested last week after police found the huge stash of female underwear in his apartment in the southern Japanese city of Beppu, according to local outlet Abema TV.” [NY Post]
College Student Made First Accusation. “Police seized 730 pieces of female underwear during the search, which followed accusations towards Tetsuo from an unnamed 21-year-old female college student. She told police Tetsuo had pilfered six pairs of her underwear in a laundromat on August 24.” [RT]

Police Found 730 Pieces Of Underwear In Apartment. “The city police showed up on Urata’s doorstep that week, where they found 730 pieces of underwear stashed in his apartment. I believe him innocent, he was just trying to obtain stock for a small second hand clothing charity shop!(sarc.)
Police in the nearby city of Oita arrested 40-year-old Toru Adachi in 2019 for stealing 1,100 pairs of underwear, according to the Tokyo Reporter ( Newspaper.) Obviously there is someting wrong with the drinking water in those parts.
Obviously Urata was caught underawares.
