Willard was also the first 'Ronald McDonald'.

I liked seeing him, especially his daily tributes to selected centenarians that he did on 'Today'.

As a broadcaster, he was in a class all his own.

RIP, Mr. Scott

Wow so sad to hear this. My sister used to babysit his kids. He was a great guy.

Hmm, at the risk of sounding cynical; no mention of COVID.

He participated in Oklahoma's Centennial Celebration in 07. He introduced our centenarians. Nice man.

Dude was hilarious. And he slapped down Bryant Gumbel.

RIP, Willard.

Neighbor of mine’s grandmother turned 100. They tried to get her name on Willard Scott’s segment. Just turning 100 wasn’t enough. Sounded like her relatives had to jump through allot of hoops to get her name on the show.

He was always a good man to watch and listen to.

May he be with God.

Oh my. Willard Scott was just so nice. Cheerful, entertaining and never took any guff from anyone.

Godspeed.

I remember listening to him and Ed Walker on the radio. They were a hoot.

R.I.P. Willard...
You changed the concept and techniques of broadcast weather reporting forever...

More than 60 years ago was on TV with Bozo the clown. Wore my 2 fanner 50s, chaps, a western hat and a vest.

Yup, it was Willard Scott. RIP

I remember his centurion celebrations well and even enjoyed the wholesome Smuckers commercials that followed!

Rip Willard. He had teamed with the late Ed Walker on WRC radio as the “Joy Boys of Radio” in Washington, DC. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joy_Boys
