Try Spinning This

Another Portland, Ore., official quits after laboring to defend the indefensible.

Some intolerable events simply cannot be spun, even by the most talented of message massagers.

A recent Journal editorial summed up the mayor’s appalling message to his community: Anarchy is tolerable as long as you’re merely shooting at each other.

Photos obtained by The New York Times show him sitting with about a dozen people — almost all unmasked — testing the limits of the strict new mask rules.

Who can blame them? For more than a year Portland’s mayor has been asking citizens to accept both limits on their liberty and threats to their safety. Perhaps his staff is just tired of defending him.

I wouldn’t bet my life on a non black pistol.

There’s paint everywhere.

No CO2 supply...Not a paint ball gun.

Orange does not render a firearm safe.

,Shotguns with bean bag rounds. Put ‘em down cuff them and process them. Oh, and the DA should immediately release names so their schools and employers can take action. The political will only flows in the other direction, unfortunately.

That's the RWS/Umarex T4E .50cal C02 pistol that shoots pepperballs or solid rubber rounds. Can get them at Amazon.com or gun dealers for around a 100 bucks. Says much about their level of belligerence for them to be using those in the open like that. Don't know about Oregon but in some states using something like that is on the same level with deadly force.

The orange color is used to denote a toy gun. However, one could paint a real gun orange and get a quick shot off at an off-guard officer.

Byrna makes an "ungun" that is offered in different colors including orange. It shoots a .68 caliber round kinetic and chemical irritant projectile that explodes when it hits to disable a threat from up to 60-feet away. I think an officer would take it as seriously as a real gun.

Anyone can paint the top slide of their pistol orange. If I am getting shot at by a person with an orange slide on their pistol, I am returning fire unless I know its a toy.

A defensive device being used on the offense, which is normally bad juju from a legal standpoint. But we're talking about dystopian Portland here, so who knows.

Anyone know about this photo? Guessing they are paintball guns?

If you return fire on an orange weapon with a real weapon, is that a big problem? Asking for a friend.

You'll have to check with Umarex about that. I imagine those buttheads are packing pocket loads of C02 cartridges and ball ammo.

What I remember as a kid, it was a involved procedure to change out a CO2 cartridge.
