Any suggestions on a book about Grant? He seems like a very interesting guy and a pretty amazing general. Don’t know if he was such a good President.

I’m partial to “Grant,” by Jean Edward Smith. I also have the Chernow bio, which is more recent and was well received by critics and public.

Thanks. I’m not sure if his memoirs are as good or accurate as “Grant,” by Jean Edward Smith. Sometimes I think an autobiography may not be as objective as a well-researched, documented, and written biography.
