My brother, not fully vaxxed, died this past Friday, after suffering from CoVid in the hospital, for 11 days, with no one in his family allowed to be near him. Any FReepers who want to flame me for posting this truth, rather than praying for the repose of my brother’s soul, go for it. I am in grief over the loss of my oldest brother.
We can all get sick from this virus, the question is, how sick will we get? I’m looking forward to meeting my Lord, but honestly, I’m not quite ready to meet him yet.

The first sentence is useless without context. What percentage are vaccinated at the time of the hospitalizations?
If 59% of the serious cases have been vaccinated but 90% of the population is vaccinated, that implies the vaccination is reducing serious cases. You would have expected 90% of the serious cases to have been vaccinated if vaccination had no impact.
So sorry for your loss.

Thank you. The hardest part was not being able to see him or hold his hand or give him a brief hug, or a wink, as he lay by himself in the various rooms in that hospital. He was a good godly man. Patient, gentle, and unfortunately for me, not a fighter. He deserved to be surrounded by his family, especially his wife of 49 years, and his 4 adult children. Thankfully, a nurse held his hand as he transitioned from this world to the next. God called him home, and he went.

# Anyone looking at the data in general and Iceland and Israel in particular know that the vast majority of the cases are coming from the “vaxxed”, since there are no “unvaxxed”in those two countries.
Indeed. Soon though, they’ll start calling someone without the 3rd dose of these experimental drugs ‘unvaxxed’ from an official standpoint so their stats may start falling back in line with the desired results.
The Israeli data is more compelling, but the small sample size can distort the results for comparison purposes. For example the Israeli data shows a big increase in deaths from Covid-19 amongst the vaccinated in July 2021, but the total number of all Covid-19 deaths that month is too low (12) to support a meaningful comparison.
I'd also argue that the 'over 50' category used is too broad for meaningful analysis, and may obscure the fact that those who died were actually much older.
I do agree with those who want more detailed information about the so-called breakthrough cases in the United States. Imo it would likely show some big differences between the vaccines in terms of duration and effectiveness. The Johnson vaccine in particular seems to be a weak link in the US vaccine arsenal.
