You are a special kind of dumb. Here is the actual report with RNA sequencing test that prove the teacher was the original biological vector. The lack of scientific understanding on this board is appalling. It’s little wonder the rest of the world views Americans as the lowest IQ bunch of the Western world. Read the actual report use your college level reading comprehension skills and see that this irresponsible teacher super spreaders it to the children who had ZERO natural immunity as no human on earth before exposure to a novel virus has natural immunity. Most will recover and carry naturally acquired immunity at that point but they will be infectious for at least ten days once they start to produce active virus. Science is science dumbsh1t politics has no place in it. Delta is highly contagious no legitimate scientist will argue against that.

Yes, the kids were masked, separated, in a room with the windows and doors open, and with a HEPA filter running. The teacher wore a mask most of the time, except when reading aloud to the kids.
This is a documented example of masks not doing a thing to prevent transmission of the COVID-19 virus.

How many got sick? Article says of the 24 kids, 4 had ‘symptoms’. Nothing in article says whether the ‘symptoms’ were generalized, and unconfirmable, achiness, or a runny nose or a low grade fever, the typical coronavirus [all 18 of them, not just #19] response. Nothing in article said anyone needed treatment of any kind.

It seems like pretty much everybody is getting the Chicom flu now except maybe shut ins. Most won’t even know they have had it without a test.
Read the report they did RNA sequencing to the positive samples proving that the teacher who also has the same RNA sequence was the source. RNA is like DNA it is a billion or more to one that the RNA matches a random sample other than the teachers strain. Sorry science is hard for illiterates fortunately the policy makers don’t listen to illiterates they relay on PHD level or above for policy so the average idiot has no say. Flat out it not up too your types and never will be.
Nobody can seriously believe that masks and 6 feet of distance inside closed spaces will prevent the spread of Covid. Especially this Delta variant.
If the teacher was infected and symptomatic, s/he should have known better. Everyone knows by now. Even if not confirmed by tests, if you are feeling sick and showing symptoms, isolate yourself. This is true for any infectious disease.
The teacher must have missed all the lockdowns, masking and other bullsqueezins that was going on for a year and a half prior to this.

Leaving the teacher aside, assuming that all the kids were masked, and since this is California I think they probably were, why did the masks not protect the students?

Same advice as always, whether it is a cold, the seasonal flu, or the extra super-duper version of the WuFlu: If you are sick, stay home.
