This iota-carrageenan nasal spray is hard to find in the US and appears to be $20 a bottle. However, it is simple to make an equivalent spray with standard nasal saline from Walmart (3 ounce), reusing or buying another nasal spray bottle (need to pop out the nasal insertion portion to pour in the new batch), pure iota-carrageenan (some have sugars for cooking purposes we don’t want) (1/16 of a teaspoon per 3 ounce bottle), and two drops of polysorbate 20 (per 3 ounce bottle). Heat water and iota-carrageenan gently and covered until it gets to 158 degrees. Let it cool and add two drops of polysorbate 20. I’ll post the link to someone’s recipe from over a year ago (yes, this has been known for a while).

There are other studies from earlier last year and not necessarily using this brand, but the same concentration of iota-carrageenan.

I went to a wedding last weekend and used a homemade nasal spray consisting of 1 part providone iodine to 19 parts saline nasal spray. I did this before I went and when I returned. I also gargled with this. Not a pleasant taste, but I made sure not to swallow it.

To get enhanced protection from the coronavirus, do the following:

There has been a study concerning an Iodine nasal spray, that kills all viruses in approx 30 seconds. I read the study, but now can’t find it. Anyone have a copy?

Saline nasal spray and 1% PVP-I. Povidone-Iodine solution. Comes in 10%, but dilute down to 1% in saline solution. (Some have gone lower to .6% dilution)

Saline solution is 1/2 teaspoon of salt per cup of distilled water, (or boiled water) allowed to cool.

Deactivates Sars2 in 15 seconds.

Also - Listerine Cool Mint, using essential oils, destroys Sars2 virus in seconds. Gargle 3X a day and use the PVP-1 nose wash, and you have reduced the odds of getting and spreading Covid.
