All stores in my area have been out of NAC all week. Yesterday one told me that FDA has finally cracked down. Supply line choked off. I confirmed this with another store today. Amazon caved back in May, but the supplement industry was holding out. Looks like that has ended.
For those of you who don’t know, NAC was introduced as a drug in the 60s. It was originally used as an expectorant for bronchial phlegm. It is also used for liver detox in Tylenol overdose.
I’ve seen many Freepers post on the benefits for COVID-19 in the last year. Various studies have shown NAC usefulness in preventing and reducing severity of COVID-19. Thus, the need to crack down now, after 60 years of safe over-the-counter use. Can’t have anything that works on COVID-19!
I imagine it will still be available in the future, but only as a prescription. Perhaps America’s Front Line Doctors will prescribe it?
I was actually looking to order some the other night and couldn’t find it available on Amazon. I wondered what was going on. Who has it available to order now? Any idea?
Didn’t Amazon ban the sale? I thought I saw that awhile back.

I just recently found out about NAC. Ordered 4 bottles from Life Extension. And yes, Amazon is blocking the sale of it on their site. And soon, the FDA wants to make it fully illegal for resale. There is something fishy going on in Denmark.
I learned about it when my husband was battling Lyme. Great protection for the liver while taking antibiotics.

I got some a month or two ago when I learned it may have benefits for covid and shortly after Azon stopped selling it. It is a large bottle (the supplement smalls awful btw due to suffur I think) - anyway, I may start rationing it. Crazy days
