I asked a clerk at Walmart if they had any female to female USB connectors. He look at kinda strange and left. About the time I was done looking he came back and said they didn't carry them. I thought in today's world he might have been confused by the sexists pronouns that everyone wants to avoid.
Plug n Socket.
Plug it in n turn `er on.
But I think there's really no political correctness this time, just a clueless clerk.
They could cater to the LGBT market and call them “Pitchers and Catchers.”
farmer near us labeled the port-johns for his bean picking crews as “pointers” or “setters”
I went into Autowhatever to buy a ‘ multi function switch’ for a Ford F-350 and the guy assured me no such part existed. He argued extensively before he checked his terminal.
“Year ago you could find just about anything at Wal-mart. Now it is the place where you find nothing.”
Years ago you could find any connector at Radio Shack...now you find nothing.
Geeks - such as me - know the correct lingo/terminology, but that gets you nowhere fast in a store like Wallyworld.
I suppose in layman’s (ahem) terms we have to dumb it down far enough to encompass the woke, uneducated.
So USB ‘innies’ & ‘outies’ it is, apparently. /s
Bottom line is that the purpose for such a connector is to bridge a distance, but USB is only good for 25 feet.
USB hubs are the acceptable solution and eliminate the need for connectors which come undone and present variables for connectivity reliability.
I understand female to female connectors are called
Scissor Connectors.
Let me guess, "Snap on Tools" makes those!
“Years ago you could find any connector at Radio Shack...now you find nothing”
Where do you find a Radio Shack nowdays?
No I didn’t ask him. I was looking at all the USB connectors and couldn’t see what I was looking for. He approached me and ask what was I looking for. At least he didn’t just ignore a customer looking for something like most of them do. Must be a newbie.
Ordered them from Amazon. One day delivery.
That’s a good one.
“Where do you find a Radio Shack nowdays?”
Exactly!
Founded in 1921, RadioShack filed for bankruptcy twice between 2015 and 2017, left in the dust by other electronics retailers like Best Buy Co. Inc. and Amazon.com Inc. The company now operates primarily as an online retailer but still has a network of about 400 stores owned by independent dealers.
In November 2020, Retail Ecommerce Ventures (REV), a holding company owned by Tai Lopez and Alex Mehr, acquired RadioShack. RadioShack operates primarily as an e-commerce website, a network of approximately 500 independently owned, franchised RadioShack stores, and a supplier of parts for HobbyTown USA.
As far as Radio Shack, they used to have very knowledgeable salespeople. But in the latter days, they could see the handwriting on the wall with electronic catalogs and the internet with Amazon. Their skills/knowledge in electronics would allow them to shift to other more stable and lucrative jobs.
In the near future they will be unisex since they can't keep men out of ladies bathroom, easier to just open them up.
You should have asked him if they were selling Masters and Slaves."
WTHWYT!
Do you realize the devastation from asking a low-information -voter a loaded question or just the statement of "Masters and Slaves!"
Just the amount of brains bursting for a 25 mile radius and tjhe amount of bleeding eyes, it would look like the southern boarder with all the ILLEGAL ALIENS flooding over.
Dang it look what you made me do!
