The Brits would call this an indecent proposal, and to their credit, have slapped it away.
So much for the U.S.-U.K. alliance.
The commander of the 82nd Airborne, in a story I hope is wrong, has reportedly told this to the Brits, according to the Washington Examiner's Tom Rogan:
I understand that the commanding general of the 82nd Airborne Division has told the commander of the British special forces at the Kabul airport to cease operations beyond the airport perimeter.
Maj. Gen. Christopher Donahue has told his British Army counterpart, a high-ranking field-grade officer of the British army's 22nd Special Air Service Regiment, that British operations were embarrassing the United States military in the absence of similar U.S. military operations. I understand that the British officer firmly rejected the request.
If that story is true, heaven help us.

Easy to believe though.
I believe the Military is under OATH to obey the CIC. Imagine our Military is plenty fed up to see this CIC issue orders to “Stand Down”

I saw the same story on Sky News Aus and GBN on Tuesday. They also reported that American & British troops on the street were having verbal battles.
I suspect it is true.
Why is this hard to believe for some?

It’s just hard to process that such a statement would come from the mouth of an American combat soldier, especially the commander of the legendary All American 82 Airborne Division. The possibility of this being true makes me ill.
True or not, you get stories like this when no one will be HONEST about what’s going on there.
Here’s my take, for what it’s worth: The Taliban are letting other countries evacuate, but are reminding us that they have control of many thousands of our people and if we don’t want to see videos of their decapitations, we best play by THEIR RULES, and their rules, at this time, do not allow for us to evacuate Americans - we can only evacuate Afghans, and then only the ones they provide to us.
So why? Just to stick it a bit deeper into Biden’s eye, to make us even appear even more impotent relative to our allies.
As to why we’re taking out people who are likely Taliban foot-soldiers. Easy - optics, we get to look like we’re at least doing something, and it won’t be obvious that we’re helping the Taliban flood the world with terrorists until it’s too late.
That is what I am afraid of. They are playing the wokeists to spread terrorism for the Taliban jihad.
Not the first American commander to be owned or switch sides.
My first thought (based on absolutely nothing), was that the 82nd guy was using ‘dry’ sarcasm to the Brit. People used to have a sense of humor, but not now..
I'm not saying it isn't true, but neither is it verified to the extent that one can jump all over it as if it were. Let's be adults here. At least temper our comments with something like, "If this is true..."
I hope the Brits ignored the request and replied: “To hell with appearances! We will do what’s right and let the chips fall where they may!”
Of course anyone doing anything is making the US look bad. You idiots should look bad.You are worthless chucks. All the way up to the top of the Chain of Command.
