"It had been several hours because other COVID positive patients had filled those beds. Even after expanding ICU care onto other floors, there weren't any beds available for this patient. We didn't have enough. This patient died in the Emergency Department waiting for an Intensive Care Unit bed."...

They just voted in a nurses union, and I imagine they want to break it. The management has been talking about bringing in world people and refusing to increase wages as they go after Haitians, Dominicans and other third world healthcare workers.
If enough people refuse wouldn’t the hospitals have to cave? 20 or 30% of nurses, aides, techs, docs saying no?
I know a nurse who had Covid, refuses the vaccine. She works two jobs, and she will be hard to replace at either.

The taly oldschool in their 40’s are out there mixing in large crowds and getting in people’s faces. But most of the people are 20yo’ds. And it’s the 20yo’ds who will be treating those taly in the hospital when they end up there sick but I imagine those 20yo’ds will be treating their own first, with limited supplies and all.
Since most doctors won’t treat this virus at all until you’re on the brink of death...
Bacterial infections are easier to get on top of, we have tons of antibacterials. Not so much with viruses. The risk of falling off the cliff edge comes along with the territory of having to rely on the body to rally it’s own defenses. If your body gets exhausted from the fight, there’s a few in-hospital treatments that can try to keep you fighting another day, but there aren’t many, and they’re not effective all the time or we wouldn’t have 1,000 deaths a day, right?. A viral infection is very much an individual fight.

Newsweek lies like a rug.
I can certainly understand that kind of scared. Your license to practice medicine for which you have pretty much invested your life and money for eight plus years less time spent for specialty and two years of rookie practice. Not to mention the first time some pharmacist questions your script, and you become “news”.
That kind of scared? Nevertheless, the public depending to some degree on your obeying your Oath of Office are left pretty much abandoned by the very army under oath to serve them. Government to the rescue with a jab or two or three. Will there ever be a relationship of trust again?
Probably not in my lifetime. The government has lied us to so blatantly and so often, I will never trust any government agency or politician again (aside from Trump).
Can we trust the medical establishment? Medical journals such the Lancet? Nope.
Can we trust the news media. No.
Can we trust Big Tech? No.
Can we trust the courts, the Supreme Court. No.
Can we trust the military leaders? No.
I could go on. But what's the point? Once trust is shattered, it can rarely be regained.
Hence vaccine hesitancy, etc, much less finding a doc willing to treat a diagnosis of Covid with some of the more alternative treatments before it gets to the ER stage.
