This morning CNN's New Day aired a report by correspondent Clarissa Ward from the Kabul airport. There, in addition to being roughly confronted by Taliban fighters, she was beseeched for advice by Afghans who had served as translators to US forces, desperate to get into the airport and out of the country.
After that piece ran, Ward was interviewed live by co-host Brianna Keilar. Commenting on Biden's interview of yesterday with George Stephanopoulos of ABC News in which Biden refused to acknowledge failure, Ward described heart-rending scenes in which parents were throwing their babies over razor wire at the airport, hoping to get them to safety.
Concluded Ward:
"If this isn’t failure, what does failure look like exactly?"

If this were Trump or any Republican president, every Dem would be in front of a microphone screaming and demanding impeachment/resignation. Where are the the Republicans? Am I missing something? Haven’t seen many of them lately.

The thing I don’t understand is where have the Taliban been all this time? Why are they so robust now? Were there ever efforts to undermine them, wherever they were?

The corrupt MSM allowed Biden to walk away after his 20 minute Afghan teleprompter reading. Now, only because there is no easy way to hide - from the entire world! - what and who Joe Biden is, they are now trying to salvage their credibility. As a previous post said, CNN and all the other corrupt MSN will dutifully go back to running interference for the 2024 Dem nominee, no matter who it is.

The Taliban have been keeping their powder dry, waiting for the moment. They do launch offensives every “fighting season” but the afghan army has been able to hold them at bay given allied air/intel/logistic support. So in the interim they have been refining a shadow regime ready to seize and hold power when the opportunity presented itself. And that future is now.
