The scenes out of Afghanistan are infuriating and tragically predictable.
It shouldn’t really come as a surprise that President Biden and the geniuses surrounding him have made such an almighty hash of the withdrawal from that godforsaken country.
Look at everything else he has messed up.
His first act in office was to dismantle hard-won Trump-era border protection measures. The inevitable illegal migrant surge at the southern border has turned into an unchecked invasion, with national security and public health risks that will ricochet through history.

How inane Biden’s conceit looks now, when he was wandering around the G-7 in June telling anyone who would listen that “America is back” and that he had single-handedly restored America’s global leadership and credibility after Trump had ruined it.
He has just been busy making us less safe. He is wokifying the military, injecting the poison of critical race theory and transgender ideology to divide the troops, while launching a witch hunt to identify some mythical “enemy within.”
It seems like only yesterday that Gen. Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, was barking at a Republican member of Congress about “white rage.”
This lawless, feckless administration has wreaked untold damage at warp speed in seven months. These aren’t mistakes that you can bounce back from. They will have ramifications well into the future.

People have long asked, where is America in biblical prophecy? How could such a mighty nation not even be mentioned in end times?
The speculative answer I long heard was that somehow America must be weakened to the point of irrelevance. At the time that always stretched my credulity, but now it almost seems inevitable.
The dollar is destroyed. The economy is propped up. We are near civil war. The southern border is completely open to bandits and future terrorists. Our own government is propagating themes of conservative terrorists. The left continues to foment absolute racial strife and hatred. America’s cities are turning into war zones. People like Fauci continue to spread debilitating panic among our population. Our foreign policy is shambles. We have a feeble, likely dementia addled, president.
Yeah, I think I can see it now. Unless there is divine intervention it seems our trajectory is now set.
I think you are right about the terrorist attacks - and it won’t be from these fantasy “domestic terrorists” on the radar because they oppose masks.
I would also not be surprised if we had a foreign military attack, if not on our soil, on that of a close (former) ally. I’m betting China will be the first to attack, possibly Taiwan or possibly even some disputed Japanese island. Or then there’s the possibility of Pakistan (which has nukes) attacking India, something the Indians are clearly worried about, judging from their tweets.
I read that a handful of nations kept their embassies in Kabul and open: among them, China, Russia, and Pakistan. China has already congratulated the Taliban government and offered its help and cooperation for the future.
The bribe probably came through China.
And that is the point. This debacle is just a warm up of more disasters to come. The regime has a long time left to inflict irreparable damage on the country.
The probability of China attacking Taiwan just went up.

I am way more optimistic than Ms. Devine. We will bounce back and it will be a generation before Dimocrats can gather enough naive fools to try their leftist agenda again. I truly believe that the millenials and gen Z are getting a lifelong lesson. They lived in their parents’ basement during Obama, came out strong during Trump, and are now back to being locked down in their parents’ basement under Biden after having an election stolen from them. I am so looking forward to the midterm elections. There is a reason why they say “If you are not a liberal when you are young, you have no heart. If you are not a conservative when you are older, you have no brain”.

I hope you’re right, but the way things are realigning on the international stage doesn’t give me a lot of hope, especially since in his few short months, Biden’s handlers’ economic and social policies have completely undermined us at home.
They’re also taking advantage of this covid insanity to lock down the opposition, permanently corrupt the electoral system, and do major redistribution of income and capital.
And the fact that the US is doing this in concert with various other insane, dictatorial, English-speaking leftwing countries (such as the UK and Australia) means that there’s nowhere to hide.
I think there may be some hope with Millenials, but they’ve got to stand up and fight back now, before we are totally locked down and just have to sit and wait for our new Chinese masters.
One thing we should always put at the top of the list: our demographic catastrophe stemming from abortion — without that ,we would have a robust civilization and no doubt thousands of geniuses who “just a lump of cells” when their entry into our world was interrupted.
